Make sure you take a dump before you do.

Mike Tyson, fresh outta jail and training to kill was stopped in a park in England, he and his crew were out for a jog very late at night, and why they where asked?. Mike's response basically was because the other guy wasn't. If you want to be a real fighter or a champion, you gotta do what the other guy won't. As well sparring, all old school boxing equipment and bags work, and you gotta have crazy cardio. Most fighters lose the big fights because they don't have the stamina, and what good is speed or power if it fades too fast. I noticed no one mentioned pad work yet either. You ever seen Pretty Boy Floyd work the pads. It is a work of art, and no cuts no damage and helps with upper body movement and reflexes. Most important of all though if you want to be a champion, you have to have talent, and heart, with a die before I lose desire to win. With those three things, either you have it or you don't...

It definitely keeps you warm before a fight, and I agree it's not the only effective way to do pad work (I'm sure Floyd trains all out power and speed combos in spurts during session way before he has to fight as well), however there is no doubt it works...

Also some of the talent up here I've noticed like to build their physical abilty by sparring a large number of rounds with minimal if any breaks between rounds, maybe more common however I can't say as I know 4 sure...

You ask what is the most important part of training? How about showin' up and givin' it 100 and 10 PERCENT. Rain, shine, or snow doesn't matter!

Floyd just trains like a maniac from what I heard, and all instinctive.
That's exactly what it takes to be one of the Greatest of All Time...

No for real, I heard 15 MINUTE rounds.
                    That's insane.

I can totally see Little Floyd being that kind of insane perfectionist/genius that feels the need to wake up in the middle of the night to train like he's afraid of someone beating him.

It's that same fear that I think will keep Floyd at number 1 for a looong time.

If I am not mistaken the incident in the park in England was before the Frank Bruno fight. Mike won that fight by KO. TKO in 5 actually.
