    Wtf?

He'd beat virtually everyone in and around his division.

Oh the Ward Haters all wearing their umbrellas like in Hong Kong. Its touching really.

Lets overlook the Dawson win, the guy who was for a time considered in a pound for pound contest with Floydy....And then lets all cry about Ward's style which is not pleasing to the hater's eye.

Ward could have retired yesterday and would still deal with the mediocre Froch's of the division......

I tend to agree. Froch, Kessler, Abraham, Dawson, Bika and Rodriguez. Undefeated and in the discussion as the greatest SMW.

I don't think he retires though.

Hell no, anyone who can load up as well as Ward could in the clinches, work his way in through a powerful jab, tight guard, that in itself is unique. Offensively nothing stands out other than his jab but he's well equipped in that regard, I love watching Ward.

As for his resume, to those who replied, I'm not saying he has to go down as a great, I'm saying that's a damn good resume to retire on. One doesn't have to be regarded as a HOF to have a good resume and if I went through his wins, we'd only end up agreeing to disagree. I still consider his win over Dawson as solid, Abraham was a decent win.

^^ this is what the boxing world needs, more fans and active fighters in the game tipping their hat instead of ****ting on other fighters

It's an amazing resume to fighters and people who really appreciate the craft .. But to average joes it is decent if not bare ..

Yeah, "has been" being the appropriate expression there.

He took his career and flushed it down the toilet. He'll never get past Golovkin or Kovalev.

Will be unfortunate if someone so good leaves without achieving everything that he could have. He's got a couple of really good wins, but someone so talented should have done a lot more.

Saying that, I won't really mind if he walks away. He won't be all that missed and doesn't seem interested in fighting anymore.

That must be why Golovkin and his people have no intention of fighting Ward....
