Most American blacks consider them hispanic. Sammy Sosa before all the perms and skin bleaching, he was that hispanic dude with a jerry curl to me, as dark as he was. We don't really lump all as one. Rigo is not black to me, he's Cuban. Clottey is not black to me, he's African. Puig is not black to me, he's Cuban. I look at black as African American culture. Way different than African. I wouldn't go Ike quartey's house to break bread, I can tell you that. lol I kid

Yeah and I was wondering why my wife(Pinay) always ate with a fork and spoon. She would use the spoon to cut. She speaks Tagalog but understands Spanish somewhat. Her last name was Domingo and she told me she had Spaniard blood. That guys post was spot on.

I live in Hawaii and have no idea what you are talking about.
Yes, some people who have Filipino last names label themselves Hawaiian. Guess why, because they are Hawaiian as well. It helps over here in getting loans and grants sort of like the Indians. Out of all the people I met, none would hesitate to tell you they are part Filipino, no one is ashamed.

Hey you have some nerve, so everyone is supposed to know who a filipino is by their spanish last name? dude get out of here. you are the emotional one you got all angry in your reply here, why you calling people emotional when you are emotional.

Hectari you need to chill seriously, why do people on this website try to dissect race so much?

Let me tell you that I'm Filipino and that I don't even know Donaire or Viloria but I would consider them Filipino. You arguing "all the sudden rep Filipino" is ignorant, these dudes have BEEN Filipino, go ask their moms.

I was born in San Francisco, but there's no way in hell my family gonna let me forget where my bloodline originates from.

Dude, of course their mom and family knows they are filipino, my point is they never were LOUD and vocal and mentioning it before like they do now.

viloria would go EVERYWHERE and bring that Hawaiian flag and say he was a proud Hawaiian in every single interview, all of a sudden he became a proud filipino when Pacman became a featherweight star.

Its just strange to me. Why all of a sudden go everywhere and speak about how you love your filipino people when that never came out of your mouth back in 1999 and 2000? It was all about Hawaii pride.
