He thought he could win and he found very quickly he was in with a vastly better fighter. That happens. It doesn't mean he cashed out.

Maravilla fan here but yes, the man couldnt even stand and yet he took the fight, just for the money, even though he knew he could barely walk, let alone fight.

        Dont do this to yourself.
It took Queen Cotto 10 rounds to beat a crippled man. A prime Martinez eats Cotto for breakfast and puts him to sleep PW style. You know that, I know that, anyone that knows sht about boxing knows that.
That's exaclty why Cotto refused to fight him until he knew he was too old and injured and couldnt move. We all knew that could be a possiblity and that's exaclty how it went down. I personally didnt want to believe that Martinez would do what he did; walk into the ring knowing he had busted knees. I could lie and tell you he did that becuase he's a warrior, but the truth is he did it for the money.
None the less, a bigger, stronger, faster, and just plain old better Martinez would have easily beaten Cotto. A Martinez that can't even stand on his legs is no measure. But hey, if you want to beleive otherwise whatever floats your boat. There's a shtload of that floating around in boxing anyway.

He cashed out and Cotto fans are delusional to think Cotto can beat a prime Martinez.

Its painfully obvious Sergios knees were crippled. Pre-Murray is the only and best Sergio I knew.

Yes the hooks landed, but that was not all Cotto. THis is like another Yuri Foreman win when he had the kneee problem as well, this is a case of "he did what he had to do" against a injured opppenent.

Just calling it the way it went down.

Whats funny is that as soon as GGG called out Cotto in New York, all these guys were running around with their tails between their legs saying "Cotto beat a handicapped Martinez for the opportunity, he doesn't need to fight GGG! " , or " Fight should be at a 154lb Catchweight",hahaha some funny *****

Nah, Cotto is just a boss.

If Martinez just cashed out he could have stayed down when he realized it just wasn't going to happen but he kept getting up for more. Martinez was damaged goods no doubt but he still had the heart of a champion and went down swinging. Mad respect for both fighters.
