I wonder what weight this will be contracted at. I'm guessing another 155.

Originally posted by Bobby Shmurda View Posti get the whole idea, canelo beats guy cotto struggled with...YEARS AGO. Thing is, it seems a bit linear. Clottey is not easy to look good against. His problem has never been he couldnt box. hes a very good fighter. His issue is he seems to get disinterested in winning fights. So Clottey is a very high risk fight, he has zero reward. Casuals dont know him much, hardcores really dont like him just seems like a recipe for derailing a potential ppv. The one thing that might happen is clottey shells up all fight a la the manny fight. even that doesnt get anyone excited for a future ppv for canelo, esp after his lackluster ppv against lara.
However, most of the reason why Clottey was handcuffed like that against Pac was because of footspeed - Margarito actually blew away Pac in output against Clottey at 1600+ total, but that fight was competitive, fought in a phone booth a lot of the time, and had great exchanges.
Even though Canelo will get to tee off and likely set his own personal record... because he doesn't move and punch, he is going to be getting quite of skill coming back at him, especially left hooks... and with his stamina it makes it interesting.
Heading into a Cotto fight..fighting someone with great left hooks is important measuring stick imo. I wouldn't have minded southpaw Kirkland either for similar reasons but this is an upgrade in skill in all actuality.
I know Clottely is known for blowing fights, but the potenial is also there with Canelo until he shows his stamina issues have been ironed out.
