Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev Batters Tavoris Cloud For 2nd Round KO

I've noticed whenever East European boxers do well in a division, certain people start saying the division is "awful".
What's "awful" is doing that.
Tavoris Cloud had never been knocked down in his entire career, Beterbiev put him down three times in round one.
Cruz was coming off a loss and had more losses on his record than Cloud. Unlike Cloud, he never had a world title. Spence couldn't knock him down or stop him. Yet you praise Spence, and discredit Beterbiev.
Stop going by double standards.Comment

Their fights against Cloud disprove that claim. No there isn't any correlation....Their are tons of Eastern Euro guys with little/no/average power and their are tons of other fighters with great power....Hell the guy with the best 1 punch power at 175 is still Adonis Stevenson....A black Haitan. His straight left is still the best punch in that division.
And alot of Eastern Euro guys who have super impressive KO ratios simply haven't fought any noteworthy competition....It's not that hard to rack up tons of KO's fighting bums....Lets seem them actually fight someone with a pulse first before we go crazy about them...
Most people labelled as "Russians" in NYC are in fact just Russian speakers a great deal of them ***ish. Ethnic Russians make up a small percentage of the Russian speaking population in New York.Lol no....The best fighters are still Americans or Mexicans and it will probably always be that way...Deal with it
I live in NYC (which has a large population of Russians and Blacks) and to say the average Slavic "Russian" is to strong for a Black American is bull...Your average Black American has a stronger more mesomorphic build than you average Slavic Russian at least where I live in NYC they do...Maybe this isn't true in other places, but in NYC it is true on average...
That being said, Chechens tend to be very strong. They have stronger builds on average than Slavic Russians and tend to be mesomorphic....I still don't think they can compare on average to Black Americans or Polynesians/Samoans through...
Also every strength related/measuring sporting event would offer overwhelming contrary evidence to your claim just look at the history of Olympic weight lifting America is a non factor and of the Americans who have won medals only one is a Black American the other dozen or so are Slavic, Greek or ***ish Americans.Comment

Thats what ive noticed too, as soon as GGG came on the scene Middleweight is awful,Kovalev and Beterbiev came Light Heavy is awful, Klitschko came on the scene Heavyweight is awful, I wont be surprised If Loma destroys everyone at featherweight their going to start calling it an awful division.I've noticed whenever East European boxers do well in a division, certain people start saying the division is "awful".

Rest assured, if Ward and the Dirrells weren't at 168lbs it would be labelled awful too, that's just how it goes unfortunately.Thats what ive noticed too, as soon as GGG came on the scene Middleweight is awful,Kovalev and Beterbiev came Light Heavy is awful, Klitschko came on the scene Heavyweight is awful, I wont be surprised If Loma destroys everyone at featherweight their going to start calling it an awful division.
There generally has to be some good North American competition to sway people into rating a fighter or division. A lot of people even refused to rate Ward until he beat Dawson on the basis Froch and Kessler were Euros lol.Comment

True, but he also has that win over Usyk. All their fights were close and competitive.
But Beterbiev isn't a natural heavyweight, he only fought at 200 because Russia had Mekhontsev at light heavyweight.Comment

Well it just shows how good Usyk is I think Hes the future of the Heavyweight and CruiserweightComment

GGG koes Geale while beeing of balance - he is on ariza shakes doe!!!
Beterbiev koes Cloud - **** division doe!!!
Provodnikov beat the **** out of Bradley - Bradley decided to brawl doe!!!
and when you show them the amateur records of GGG or Beterbiev to prove that they are not unskilled brawler and they were also successeful in amateur boxing, where power means almost nothing and they won because of the skills, they say - but but amateur carrier dont count doe!!!Comment
