Cloud is a short light heavyweight to begin with, Beterbiev fought at 205 in his last olympics. He would have been much bigger against any version of Cloud i think.

I responded to the talking about Cloud's shape here, not downplaying Beterbiev's perf let's be clear.

Then he got hurt and had to go down. I have no clue why some people say he wasn't actually hurt there and basically laid down, other than being in total shock of how easily Artur ran through Cloud, it's flatout fabrication.
I never said he was not hurt or he just laid down, it just looked like he did not come to fight.

but I also said it not to take away from the Russians victory, it was just an observation.

And so no one calls me a hater my grandmother was born in Moscow, Russia

I wasn't specifically referring to you there, it's just what I've read several people say, that Cloud didn't look hurt, and was simply off balance because he didn't train.

You could be a hater even if you were born in Russia...

Yeah, you have to wonder how long Artur will be able to make the weight and if it will hurt his stamina late in fights. So far, it doesn't look like a problem.

True, but if I don't like a fighter I am not shy about expressing my hate.

I did not even know who the Russian was before this fight.

There was one caller yesterday in thaboxingvoice who said he and Mekhontsev agreed he would move up at "heavyweight" (which is 205 in the amateurs) and Mekhontsev would fight at 175 so the two of them would compete at the olympics. I'm curious to know what weight he walks around.

Heavyweight is 200 in the amateurs, not 205. Light heavyweight is 178.

Beterbiev weighed in below 175 for the fight with Cloud. He didn't look much bigger than Cloud in the ring, perhaps slightly taller.

Good for him then, he looks freakishly strong at this weight.

Sergei Kovalev was one of my favorite hockey players of all time for the New York Rangers...now I have a new boxer to root for simply because of his name lol. And I also love Hopkins, so the fight between them will be very exciting for me.
