This will be decied by the betting sites if he will move up to 175 and fights these guys. I'm pretty sure that Ward would be the betting favourite agains any of the 175lb guys if it would happen now. But you openly hating on him as I see... He haven't got any contract from Kovalev or Stevenson and he is not in the same division with them, sadly he isn't even fighting nowadays so he hardly turned down them. Stevenson was busy with chasing the Hopkins fight but they screwed up. But you think that after he cleaned out a very strong SMW he would have absolutley no chance just one division higher? Based on this logic Crawford wouldn't have the fantasy nod over 140lb fighters cause he didn't earn it or Rigondeaux wouldn't get the nod over 126lb fighters cause he didn't earn it. It's not just depend on if they fought at that weight or not... When a fighter moves up in weight you automatically give the nod to his opponents in the new weight class just because he is new there? And if not then who else earned more than Ward a fantasy nod against the guys one division higher? Ward has one of the best resumes in the sport right now and his inactivity isn't effect his quality. He is as good as he was, he didn't take much punishment and he isn't that old. 30 years old only. I don't know why so much people think that he is over. Even if he comes back just in 2016, he will be still just 32 years old, like Golovkin now. I guess many people want him to be over and that's the reason.Ward did whatever he did at 168...years ago, not at 175.
He won't fight in 2014 and fought once in 2013 against the #8 SMW.
He doesn't get a fantasy nod over LHW fighters because frankly he hasn't earned it. In fact, he openly turned down Stevenson and Kovalev fights. He gets nothing in terms of credit over top 175lb opponents.Comment

he's obviously a powerful puncher, and he does have some offensive skill, but he's still quite crude.
he was getting hit clean with a lot of counterpunches. he wouldn't even react to them until they had bounced off of his head.
i'd like to see them take time with him and let him learn some defense, but i understand why they don't take time with these european amateurs. they enter the pros as grown men. beterbiev is almost 30 years old.Comment

as a ward fan, would beterbiev's inside game worry you? he wouldn't be as easy to frustrate as a kovalev or golovkin would be.he's obviously a powerful puncher, and he does have some offensive skill, but he's still quite crude.

Thats not the same Cloud anymore. Watch some of his earlier fights. They're doing it to hype up Stevenson and Hopkins and make it seem like they're going up against relevant competition. But that won't fool us boxing fans. We knew that Cloud was never good.
This is exactly the same Cloud who faced Hopkins and Stevenson. He was just never good to begin with. This had nothing to do with one fighter taking away his soul or w/e. It's the same guy who took a savage beating against a very underrated fighter.Comment
