I remember 5 or 6 years ago this guy was a bulldozer and was climbing the ranks and people where seriously talking about him taking the division by storm, then he gets thrown in prison because of owning a firearm and his progress gets derailed.

Then he comes back 2 years later fighting often and gets KOed by some Japanese guy no one ever heard of, and was on his way to losing a decision against Carlos Molina and got a lucky DQ in his favor.

Now this guys fought twice in the last 2 years, and he's being picky with his contracts, how much money he gets and who he fights???? That makes zero sense! You can't be picky when you're a contender. Really you shouldn't be picky at all. He doesn't deserve a shot at Alvarez with how inactive he's been and he would probably lose if he got a shot. He needs to build himself up big time.

I don't get it. He wants an easier fight than Canelo when he's coming off some time out of the ring, which is fair enough, but he wants PPV money for this tune up?

That right there is what turns guys into fan favorites and then legends. Kirkland ****ed up SO BAD by turning down these fights. Who is even going to make him offers now?

Dude's only option is to ride out his contract with 50 and see if maybe Haymon wants him, huh?

Why didn't he just stay in jail? What a waste of a career....

Kirkland is throwing away a potentially very lucrative career..

He would have made tons staying active and fighting

                  Fights with
                  Paul Williams
                  Canelo
                  Angulo 2
                  Pavlik
                  Serg
                  Trout
                  Ggg

Kirkland is a premier action fighter so he will always been on tv in big fights

I have a feeling Kirkland is going to get in trouble because of financial problems and go back to jail
