Crawford hasn't beaten beltran yet...but if he does he is a candidate.

Gonzalez needs another top level opponent at the end of the year for the win.

Other than that, this hasn't exactly been as competitive a year as say 2013 or 2012.

Personally, I think if HOpkins beats Kovalev, he is without a DOUBT the FOTY

If Crawford were fighting Mikey Garcia, and beat him, he'd be a lock for FOTY.

          True.

He had a huge size advantage that IMO won him the fight, but Gamboa chose to move up and fight at that weight so it wasn't an unfair advantage. I thought Gamboa was outboxing him with relative ease though, size negated it and its a still good win.

There are no stand out candidates for me. If B-Hop wins against Kovalev then he should be a lock.

Canelo would have won it if he beat Kirkland in December.

true, pac should be a candidate too. if he beats algieri then he will have beaten two undefeated champions in their prime.

bradley - #3 p4p, #2 welterweight, WBO champion, prime, coming off big win against marquez, undefeated (officially)

algieri - #3 jr. welterweight, WBO champion, coming off big win against provodnikov siberian rocky, undefeated, prime
