Quillin pocketed 500k from Haymon to sidestep Korobov

Its like the so called "real boxing" fans that hope a fight doesn't have any viewers, chooses one network over another or those that brag about illegally streaming fights instead of paying for them.Comment

Money talk aside for a minute; most people predicted that Quillin would vacate anyway if a decent opponent actually signed to fight him. He comes across as that kind of fighter.
A good fight called off, because Haymon is giving Quillin a hand-off so he won't fight under a Jay Z promotion. Al Haymon is bad for boxing...no doubt.Comment

Everybody is complaining about Quillin (not that I like him much) but he really is just doing what he is told. Al had to give him that 500k and a promise in order to justify it to his "client"
This is a move by Haymon to squash Roc Nation right outta the gate. The last thing he needs after his failed GBP takeover is a new competitor with deep pockets. Especially one with connections to HBO.
Roc Nation was probably going to get that fight on HBO, due to Jay-Z and his close relationship with that network. So it couldnt have been that hard to convince a guy like Espinoza to help him get a future guarantee for Quillin. After all Showtime has shown that they arent afraid of overpaying and a fight with Danny Jacobs would probably do pretty well at Barclays...and once again, everyone will tune it to watch it all the while complaining that Quillin is ducking
That's the was I see this whole mess. Its like Deep Throat said, "just follow the money"Comment

I dont blame ANYONE for streaming. Why pay for a fight if you dont have to. ESPECIALLY if its a fight that nobody asked for and is being force fed to us. If everyone were to pay for any garbage ppv then all it would do is encourage the greedy promoters/networks to continue to put b.s fights on ppv.Comment
