Jacobs brought no money two weeks ago, but now it's the biggest undercard fight that can be made in boxing. Korobov just looking for that payday like the rest he has to wait his turn. Gavin Rees' brother had to wait in line too.
No he can't, because he has no world title. That's the only thing that made him relevant because everyone knows he isn't the goods. Jacobs is the main guy now, even with his paper title. He's got the story and the name, and he's actually from Brooklyn, not just pretending to be like Quillin.

Korobov is getting his title shot and if he wins, he'll get a big money unification fight. That's what champions are supposed to do.

        a duck is a duck.

Please everyone look at the people who are praising this move and find the common ground its not hard.

If he's getting more money for a similar level opponent and a big fight that I can go to live then **** it. Jacobs is a better fight than Korbov imo anyways.

You can praise all Quillin all you like for making "a biznass decision" but at the end of the day this just goes to show you the effort Haymon will go to block fights. In the process, treating all his fighters like chess pieces.

This is more to do with Haymon rather than Quillin I think. Quillon was treated like a whore, given his money and told to follow orders like you would pay one.

Cause he's a haymon fighter. Ok I'll change the question. Do you think any haymon fighter not named Floyd picks who they fight lol

No because they're all puppets. However, I've never seen any of his fighters vacate their belt and pass on a career high payday. Not to mention he was fighting a guy he would've had a great chance of beating and kept his title, which is the only thing that makes him somewhat relevant and keeps him on TV.

Just because they were both mandatories in their situations, does not mean that the analogy is valid. They are not the same situations - Floyd would be the overwhelming favourite against a HUGE underdog against Guerrero and effectively can pick whoever he fights - him vacating means nothing. Korobov actually has a decent chance of beating Quillin, hence the analogy is pretty weak...

Maybe the Bowe-Lewis situation might be more similar, but I don't see why using an analogy is proving anything here.

Please tell me you know all of this...
