Quillin is not even some high-rated star that you could confidently recover your investment from. $500K is a lot of money. Otherwise, you have to assume this Haymon personalty is truly a business wizard. Where is he getting all these huge amounts of money from? Santa Cruz got paid $750K for fighting a former sparring partner. It's unbelievable.

it wouldn't surprise me, but i'll need more than three guys making a "radio show" from their parent's basements.

That's a good rumor to put out there by Haymon/Quillin to save face for their decision or it's a high risk investment. Taylor needs to beat Soliman or atleast get the winner to agree to face Quillin otherwise there's not going to be any payoff for all that money. My interest in the Soliman/Talylor fight keeps growing due to how much is going on the line for that IBF belt.
As far as Al trying to circumvent Roc Nations, that's futile. Roc Nations has the bigger money and will be able to work with multiple networks where Al's limited to Showtime & Fox and he may be burning his bridges with them.

lmfao so who exactly is going to give Quillin that 1.5M for his next fight? Is he fighting Canelo on PPV or something? I find it very hard to believe that Quillin is going to be guaranteed 1.5M for his next fight. Unless it's a PPV fight.
Let's be real here, if he fights Jacobs (who holds the title), there is no way Showtime, or anyone for that matter, is going to put up that kind of money for that event unless Jacobs is willing to fight for scraps. That fight wont even draw 1M viewers.
