Khan got rid of Ariza because of how Ariza left him during training camp for his then upcoming rematch against Peterson. Khan felt it was unprofessional and just wrong. Ariza left both Pacquaio and Khan in the Philippines to help train Chavez Jr for his fight. Pacquaio was cool with it, but Khan wasn't. And Khan ended up getting a replacement.

Maidana... that right there is an enigma because Maidana went on record saying that he liked Ariza and felt he did a great job. Maidana wasn't in approval of firing him. But if that's what Garcia wanted, he was going to roll with it. It's just that no one really knows what went on between Ariza and Garcia.

Garcia could have fired Ariza for what he felt was lack of loyalty, Ariza again overstepped his bounds, apparently he was the one whispering in Mikey Garcia ear to leave Top Rank and sign with Haymon. Also Ariza was praising Floyd instead of saying Maidana was robbed after the first fight.

Ariza is always fired over other things than his strength and conditioning work, something is wrong with the mans head, he needs to stop getting an ego and thinking he can do other things, just knowyour role and do no more.

But don't you think that's pretty petty of Garcia to release Ariza because Ariza didn't feel Maidana was robbed? And thought Floyd had a great performance? I don't know man, to me, that seems petty.

Whatever the reason, I think it had to be over something bigger than that. Him whispering into Mickey Garcia to leave Top Rank and go with Haymon is interesting though, and that could be a reason to me. But even then, I still don't think it's significant. Because I'm pretty sure anything he told Mickey, he already told Robert. And it's not like Ariza has ties to Haymon, he has none. All we know is that he doesn't like Arum.

Not really, and that wasn't even part of Teri Tom's diet and supplementation, it shows Ariza is no PED genius he is actually quite clueless when it comes to chemical compounds, even i know that stuff he gave Rios is banned, Ariza gave Diego Corrales and Morales some type of over the counter bodybuilding supplement that effected their liver and made them sluggish so he got fired.

When he got with Teri tom is when he started improving, she basically does all the scientific work for him, her plyoworkouts she developed from her years studying jeet kune do and bruce lee philosophy of explosive training for power and speed. she basically showed that too this something that most people don't know because she basically keeps a low profile and avoids any spotlight and lets Ariza take all the glory. Ariza is a good messenger and follows her instructions, she can't do the work herself so Ariza does it he lives and trains with the fighters.

That stuff he gave Rios was to keep him awake, its not something that will get you muscular over night it will get you amped though, i said it before the reason Rios looked bad in the Pac fight was he wasn't used to the time of the fight early morning schedule.

This is basically Ariza last chance Floyd is the last level for him, if he screws up he is gone forever from boxing. But if he transforms Floyd to a beast, you know this guy will be able to start his own company and hire trainers and have athletes coming to him for strength and conditioning work.

Floyd should give Ariza a try, but he has to start a few months out to get adjusted cause his body is going to be sore as hell for a while til he gets used to the explosive sprints and power workouts. But the positive about Ariza training is he doesnt allow overtraining, so Floyd will be more explosive less sluggish since he is given more time to rest and focus on sparring and boxing, Garcia wanted Maidana to train every day and do 2 a days which is ******, thats old mentality and causing fighters to get fatigue in fights and tired and weak. never leave your fight in the gym. The body grows and gets strong in rest and timing is key.

Yeah, but that's not a good enough explanation to me. Because he was training more than just one fighter. He didn't fire Ariza after the Broner match. Not even after Rios lost to Pacquaio. That can't be it either. That's one of those petty reasons.

Yeah Robert Garcia is old school.

Conditioning should be new school with boxing skills/padwork etc obviously kept old school.

It is petty but that is how Garcia works, even Floyd will fire someone for lack of loyalty, boxing is a loyalty game.

roach didn't like Ariza getting an ego and starting to tell Pac to do this and that and dissing Arum so he saw that as lack of loyalty.

on all access Ariza ears were turning red, when floyd said Garcia camp wasn't loyal he said what they did to Ariza was wrong. its basically a warning to Ariza that Floyd is telling him subtly that I may try you but you better be loyal to me, its Ariza last shot man.

But this Ariza and Floyd combo is going to be scary, if he does get with Floyd, and Ariza and Tom do their magic on him, oh man Floyd might be on a different level he could possibly fight for another 2 or 3 years, his body is already bored and is not growing stronger when you do the same old stuff everytime, your body gets used to it, he needs to confuse his muscles. He mainly does long jogs, if he ads the explosive sprinting, medicine ball throws, hammer throws, burpees, etc i think it will really make his punching power go up. His looping right hand is very good with added power it will be a deadly weapon. Look at how Memo transformed Marquez at 39? JMM power is through the roof, when you have proper punch technique and deliver and add more muscle and strength to your body it increases your power, JMM is proof of that. and Floyd throws his punches with perfection.

Very, very, very interesting stuff. Thanks for the information. Hadn't heard of any of it.

I had heard of Ariza giving Corrales and Morales some garbage and getting released because of it. But all that Terri Tom stuff, was unknown to me. I agree, this is the last chance for Ariza with his new ties to Floyd. If he ruins that, he's gone for good.

I'm not sure if Floyd will give Ariza a try because he's been so successful for so long on his own. But Floyd does need someone to help him not overtrain, because he trains with so much intensity. And because he trains year round, he gets into fighting shape within a mere few weeks. That is one thing people don't realise in as far as how easy it is for him to overtrain.

I agree that Garcia had it wrong for Maidana. Maidana looks visibly more tired than the first fight.

Of course he knows his stuff! That why he has a degree!

I told you Alex that Garcia was going to use you until he learned from you! His fighters have always had trouble making weight.

I guess, maybe you do have a point about the loyalty thing in boxing. But yeah, it does seem like Floyd is keeping Ariza on a short leash at the moment. And you do have a point that Floyd's body may be too used to his same routines. But as I said in another post, I think Floyd probably needs more balance in his training regimen during training camp specifically. Because he enters training camp in complete shape already. So two months of intense training may not be good for him anymore at this stage. Maybe years ago it was okay and his body could adjust better.

I remember his father telling him to taper off on training so much and rest his body. Said Floyd used to be training for 7 hours a day.

That Terri Tom stuff is very interesting though. I'm going to look up her stuff more. She's totally under the radar.
