I think it had more to do with Maidana's awkward style.
Floyd may need to consider retirement

I think it is more a product of Maidana's style than anything. Put Floyd in with another classically trained boxer and Mayweather will look other worldly like he did vs Canelo.
Maidana doesn't fight or throw punches from conventional angles. For a technician like Mayweather, this can throw you off your game when you aren't sure where the punches are coming from and you are risk adverse. This might be the reason why he won't fight Pac because Pac is a lefty with speed and an awkward style to boot.Comment

He has considered it.. he only has 2 fights left according to floyd..
but floyd is a known liar and double-talker, so who knowsComment

Manny's style has always been tailor made for Floyd. You don't beat Floyd fighting in the middle of the ring.
I do agree that punches that used to be several inches away from landing on him are now only an inch away from landing. That isn't a good thing. Punches that would never hit the old Floyd will soon land on the OLD Floyd.Comment

The primary reason Floyd got hit as much and as cleanly as he did was because he was panicking. The truth is Floyd's defense was never anywhere near as good as it's been billed all these years. He's gotten nailed throughout his career with basic punches from basic fighters - when he isn't controlling distance like a track athlete. His agility and point guard-esque feet are the secret to his defense. He's incredibly average as a defensive fighter when he's stationary.Comment

I have watched all 47 fights. Every last one. Floyd isn't even close to what he was just 5 years ago.Comment

Maidana just lost 10-2 lol. To me the only one that can beat Floyd is a fighter that can beat him in the middle of the ring (ala Zab Judah) because that's where Floyd is best. Floyd fought the exact way you are supposed to fight Maidana, it wasn't exciting, but it was supremely affective.

I see Floyd slowing down a lot, getting hit with shots he never got hit with, and missing shots he normally lands. He looked slower, more vulnerable at times and never put that finger print on the fight he normally does...His last 2 fights will be tough as i see a steep decline in him now. He won tonight clearly and i think the scorecards were to close..but he did not look like the Floyd i knowComment
