It would be funny if Quillin ducked Korobov and then got paid less in his next fight.

IDK if it's funny or not, but hell, Quillin is unlikely to get this kinda payday ever again. Furthermore, he drops the strap and his future paydays go down even further... I just can't see any angle in which taking this fight doesn't make sense.

I can appreciate, as a father myself, that the timing is far from perfect and I seem to recall reading that his wife/ partner had a miscarriage not so long ago which complicates matters still further, so he's really got some tough choices to make.... but if he wants to stay in the sport and make a living from it, there really is only one option.

FWIW I think Natalyia Kovalev is due in mid-November - gotta wonder if that'll impact on Sergei.

i don't see how haymon can get quillin 1.4 mill to fight jacobs but i never count out haymon the great. also if quillin does beat jacobs he will be interim champ #1 to golovking's belt, the guy he has been ducking for 2 years. seems implausible.
