Comments Thread For: Klitschko Suffers Bicep Injury, Pulev Bout Postponed

Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has suffered a hamstring injury, pushing back a title defense against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev that had originally been scheduled for Sept. 6 at the O2 World Arena in Hamburg, Germany, according to German newspaper Bild.

“The fight will be postponed by two months, probably to the end of October,” the article said (via Google Translate).

Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, Klitschko’s company, confirmed the news on Monday morning.

“Unfortunately the news is true that Wladimir Klitschko injured himself in camp and [the] Sept. 6 fight vs. Pulev needs to be postponed,” he tweeted. [Click Here To Read More]

Great. At least we've got the Huck bout with Spaghetti this week to ease the pain of those horrid Showtime cards, and then some Flyweight action to replace the HW bout next weekend leading up to the great Sept 27 card - Wlodarczyk vs Drozd and Lebedev vs Kolodziej.

Dangit!!! One of my most anticipated fights of the year is postponed.

Wlad was going to really show his ATGness and prove why he deserves p4p #1 spot. Now that will all have to wait.

The poll had so few responses it was clear not many people cared about this fight.

Garcia-Salka was a more talked about fight on here, does that mean it should've happened?

It clearly wasn't among the hardcore boxing fans that log on to this site. Was it going to be televised in north/south America?
