Ward's contract with Goossen gives him a minimum of 1.75 mil per fight. Slave contract doe
"Ward demanded and received a $550,000 signing bonus plus a
dramatic improvement in his fees per bout, with a minimum of $1,750,000 plus pay-per-view percentages. In his first bout under the subject new agreement, Ward received and retained $1.750 million dollars and in his second bout under the new agreement Ward received and retained $1.9 million, for a total of$3.65 million"
These are really good numbers considering he doesnt have much fan base. IDK what the **** is the problem with a 2 million minimum per fight for somebody who cant headline a ppv.
ward needs to stop this victim ****, you got guys like Rigo, where his promoter basically refused to put him on TV again and refused to match him up with any big names after he trashed donaire and cost arum money.Comment

Yeah, I agree. I'm definitely all for fighters getting great money and having their career freedom, as such. However, there is a difference between that and what really does seem to come across as greed and ego. They deserve great money for their job, getting hit in the face to entertain us, but he's already getting great money, millions per fight, but thinks he deserves much more. It's not just how good you are, otherwise Rigo etc would also be right up there earning millions, but its about entertainment and how many people like to watch you. Sadly, Ward doesn't have that drawing power.Comment

Andre Ward needs to suck it up now and just go with the flow. Otherwise, he really needs to buyout his contract if he really wants to leave. At this point, just become active and get a fight out there. Anything decent, get it done.Comment

Given the circumstances, I don't think that Goosen would be eager to provide him with easy fights anymore. And I also remember that Goosen sued Ward for defamation and asked him pay some $10 million. And as Ward is no Chavez Jr in the selling tickets department, it's likely that Haymon doesn't show up to rescue him... It's such a pity that Andre Ward wastes his huge talent in this kind of disputes.Comment

Maybe Roc Nation Sports comes in and saves Andre Ward by buying out his contract. That would be a big splash and follow it up by signing Guillermo Rigondeaux. Look for those upcoming free-agents with decent names and try to build a stable of fighters.Comment

I'm quite sure Ward's lawyer doesn't mind all these cases; but IDK what J.Prince is telling him but you're not going to beat season vet like Dan Goosen in court he's wasting money and his prime go out there and fight and become a free agent.Comment
