    Jeff can bounce back, maybe

Let's not be too hard on Jeff, this guy is a Warrior for standing upto so many punches for 12 rounds!

It's just that Calzaghe was able to roll back the years which nobody expected.

Jeff still has a lot going for him and if he just goes back to the gym and works on defence, maybe he can bounce back and dominate at 168.

He's beaten some very good opposition such as 35-2 Syd Vanderpool (who beat Glen Johnson, but lost to Bernard Hopkins) and floored Robin Reid for the first time in his life. THAT is pretty damn good, and at 28 he still has time to improve. Joe Calzaghe is 34 and still going strong, so there is hope.

But, maybe I just feel sorry for the guy I don't know.

And, you bastards, I lost £500. Where was this 168lb version of a prime Mike Tyson?? Where was 'the next big thing'?? Damn, I can't believe I was such a ****ing fool

But I will stand by this - the Lacy that fought Reid would probably beat the Calzaghe that fought Salem (because Joe looked a shadow of his former self that night due to personal problems).

Lacy has some skill, despite what some naysayers think.

I think he need a new, better trainer. I've never liked the guy he has training him, and Jeff Lacy definitely needs to work on his defense.

This was far and away the worst fight I've seen of his.

I personally think Jeff's corner was disgraceful for not pulling him out.

Also, GET RID OUT OF GARY SHAW.

Shaw has embarassed Jeff, almost as much as Joe did, because Shaw hyped him so much.

I absolutely ****ing hate it when people judge a guy based on one fight. He had a terrible night, got completely outclassed by the top guy in the division. **** happens sometimes.

That doesn't take away from his 21 wins, and 17 KO's, and the guys he beat during that time. Everyone likes to jump on the hatred-wagon and bash on a guy because he has one loss.

Did the same people say that when Leonard was beaten by Duran? Did you say that he was an overrated pansy, who flurried at the end of rounds to win fights? I'd assume that if you were around, you would have said that, because the same people bashing on Lacy right now, are the same sort of morons who bash on every fighter every time they lose, completely ignoring their past. Lacy has beaten some very good opposition, but wasn't ready for the skill level of Calzaghe.

I thought he'd go in there, and look more like he did vs Robin Reid, and have an excellent inside game-- which is where he thrives, he's not an outside fighter-- and then take the win on the inside. That's not the way things went, and the problem was that Calzaghe grabbed a hold of him every time he got close.

I do hope that you all realize by saying Jeff Lacy is a bum, a **** fighter, etc, etc, you're taking away from Calzaghe, and continuing to stereotype him as a guy who only fights bums, and has never had any real competition. But that can't be what you mean with thread titles like "Calzaghe top 3 p4p!"
