That doesn't take away from his 21 wins, and 17 KO's, and the guys he beat during that time. Everyone likes to jump on the hatred-wagon and bash on a guy because he has one loss.

Did the same people say that when Leonard was beaten by Duran? Did you say that he was an overrated pansy, who flurried at the end of rounds to win fights? I'd assume that if you were around, you would have said that, because the same people bashing on Lacy right now, are the same sort of morons who bash on every fighter every time they lose, completely ignoring their past. Lacy has beaten some very good opposition, but wasn't ready for the skill level of Calzaghe.

I thought he'd go in there, and look more like he did vs Robin Reid, and have an excellent inside game-- which is where he thrives, he's not an outside fighter-- and then take the win on the inside. That's not the way things went, and the problem was that Calzaghe grabbed a hold of him every time he got close.

I do hope that you all realize by saying Jeff Lacy is a bum, a **** fighter, etc, etc, you're taking away from Calzaghe, and continuing to stereotype him as a guy who only fights bums, and has never had any real competition. But that can't be what you mean with thread titles like "Calzaghe top 3 p4p!"

          I absolutely agree....

don't fight Calzaghe again. This is a style match-up that NOW I realize Lacy CANNOT overcome. Yes, he can still be successful, but not against Calzaghe.

I think thats rubbish, Calzaghe doesn't have a specific style, he likes to **** but he can also box a bit. You appreciated neither, maybe you now appreciate both.

I don't disrespect him personally. But, the fact is Jeff lost BADLY and there's only two possibilities.

                    1) He's not as good as people said.

                    2) He totally choked and/or overtrained.

Jeff threw 141 punches. That is ridiculous.

Maybe he can bounce back. I hope he does.

This was one of the most, if not the most 1 sided title fight beatdown I've ever witnessed.

I'm a big fan of Lacy, love his style, and think he's a good fighter. Joe Calzaghe beat him DOWN tonight. This was Barrera/Hamed, Hopkins/Trinidad all over again. A relatively 1 sided affari, where the power puncher was embarassed and outclassed severely.

Lacy will bounce back, but I think we all see that there is a quite simple remedy for his fighting style. Lacy can adapt because he's young, but this fight will have an effect on his elite status. Calzaghe provided the blueprint...
