great ring generalship by joe...he pivoted, he pitty patted and mixed some bombs to get the right distance, tied lacy so that they would have to restart and not throw too many short punch combos, great head movement...awesome. i think joe really stepped up once he found a real threat in front of him.

much respect to the 'kid' as well. i've alwasy said he was a bit green and if joe would win it would be beacuse of joe's expereince. i think if he just used his head a little more and not come forwad so much...**** to the body more...he could have made it a little more interesting...

you know tarver was watching this fight...i can't wait.

      Tarver-Calzaghe really needs to happen.

But yeah, Calzaghe is very smart. Known when to hold, and he mixes a lot of softer punches in with his bombs to ensure he doesn't get tired.

      DLH could learn.

But I will stand by this - the Lacy that fought Reid would probably beat the Calzaghe that fought Salem (because Joe looked a shadow of his former self that night due to personal problems).

That's a bad match for him. Calzaghe would lose.

lacy fighting calzaghe reminds me of vargas fighting trinidad. just too early in your career to be going up against a guy like that.

He did take the fight to early. He probably should have gradually worked his way up. Kind of like what Cotto is doing, but too late for that now. He will be back Im sure.

Lacy will be back, I'm just now watching the fight. Lacy seems to think he is Tyson thats the problem, he thinks that by boobing n weaving throwing one big punch that he would of ended the fight while Joe worked on his flurries, and controlling the fight. All Lacy needs is more training, more experince.

Sure it always feels good to predict a winner but Im wrong just as many times as I am right.

Not even this Calzaghe homer thought he could perform the way he did, now I hope everyone realizes that this white kid from wales is legit and he always has been!
