Let's not be too hard on Jeff, this guy is a Warrior for standing upto so many punches for 12 rounds!
It's just that Calzaghe was able to roll back the years which nobody expected.
Jeff still has a lot going for him and if he just goes back to the gym and works on defence, maybe he can bounce back and dominate at 168.
He's beaten some very good opposition such as 35-2 Syd Vanderpool (who beat Glen Johnson, but lost to Bernard Hopkins) and floored Robin Reid for the first time in his life. THAT is pretty damn good, and at 28 he still has time to improve. Joe Calzaghe is 34 and still going strong, so there is hope.
But, maybe I just feel sorry for the guy
I don't know.
And, you bastards, I lost £500. Where was this 168lb version of a prime Mike Tyson?? Where was 'the next big thing'?? Damn, I can't believe I was such a ****ing fool
But I will stand by this - the Lacy that fought Reid would probably beat the Calzaghe that fought Salem (because Joe looked a shadow of his former self that night due to personal problems).
