How does he cherry pick when he fights whoever is up for it?

Cotto is the lineal champ, he should fight this "cherry picker"...

I like Freddie but he is just making excuses for Cotto who would fight GGG next if he were a true fighting middleweight champion like Hagler or Monzon.

It was more like 7500 with who knows how many comps. By comparison Cotto vs Sergio filled 21,000 seats at MSG.

So Roach is correct. GGG is not even in the same ballpark when it comes to selling tickets. That fight makes no financial sense for Cotto.

Cotto could sell 20,000 tickets at MSG by himself against a female MMA fighter.

He literally has one of the, if not the biggest fanbases in the sport.

For a Kazakh who's been in America for 2 years...... GGG is pretty damn popular and 7500 is more then a solid number. IMO

So we are pretty much in agreement there. Cotto is a big draw.

It's a nice little number for him but in the end Roach is right. The guy doesn't sell tickets on the same level as Miguel.

I think Golovkin would beat him if they fought but that's not what Freddie was arguing.

Well he certainly doesn't handpick opponents!

He fought the best available opponent on July 26th

Quit using the floyd excuse. So ppl should only fight other fighters with the same size fan base that makes sense. If golovkin doesnt sell then what does that make andy lee and Sergio Martinez. Both of them sell jack ****. And i guarentee cotto will make more fighting ggg.
