Roach is with Cotto. When his fighters have perceived rivalries, he gets defensive about his fighters and we can expect more of it with GGG. He doesnt do it so much that its unreasonable, just a healthy dose of family tribalism. Its normal in all things competitive, including boxing.
Plus, he's right to point out that Golovkin doesnt sell tickets. He doesnt handpick though.Comment

This is a dumb post. Roach was being complimentary to his friend, Shane, seeing as they were going with the Cotto fight because it had more money. Pacquiao fought Shane 2 fights later and had him running scared. Besides, Roach doesnt "duck" or "handpick" anyone, he's a trainer not a fighter anymore.Comment
