I wasn't commenting on anything Jeff said in the statement you responded to. My statement was a simple one, one that you quoted me on yet your own statement had nothing to do with the statement I made. I asked and people are asking the same thing, wanting to know if Mayweather defends his 154 pound title, is he going to demand that a fighter come below 154. Can you seriously accept it if Mayweather defends his 154 pound title against other 154 pound fighters and demands they come in lower ever again? Would you defend him?

He never accepted anyone 2 weight classes higher? That seems rational enough to me. I'm still lost on how a WW can be ducking a MW.Comment

I complained about all of them doing it so next time target the people who have been partial - instead of responding to my quote as if I am in that group, I am not. Lets not forget that of the 3 fighters, only 1 fighter was a hypocrite and you know who that is.Last edited by richardt; 08-16-2014, 07:10 PM.Comment

If Mayweather beats Golovkin people would say he wasn't ready. If it's at 154 they would say he should have fought him at 160. In other words Mayweather would get no credit should he win. If Golovkin beats Mayweather he's king of the world despite all the built advantages he would have. Mayweather would be taking all the risk and getting none of the reward.
I agree with most sane boxing fans, the fight should be between Golovkin and Ward not necessarily Mayweather.Comment

Because weightclasses are around for a reason. No one is mentioning GGG and Hopkins or klitchkoComment

First off, I'm familiar enough with you as a poster to know that you're not coming from a completely irrational and fanatical place of simply wanting to see Floyd lose. We disagree on this subject because you come from the black-n-white stance of, "Floyd is the jr middleweight champion." IMO I come from the more practical stance that Floyd isn't a jr middleweight. So to answer your question, I wouldn't fight tooth-n-nail to defend Floyd demanding catchweights from certain guys. But it doesn't really bother me either. I don't really like catchweights. But when guys are out here chasing fights with smaller guys, that happens to be bigger stars. They kinda make it hard for me to feel sorry for them one way or another. Because personally. With weigh-ins being 30hrs+ before the opening bell in these big events. I really don't think they make that big a difference. Everyone went crazy over what happened with Manny and Oscar. And failed to realize Oscar was so drained because he was a dumbass and tried to rehydrated after the unofficial HBO weigh-in the night of the fight.I wasn't commenting on anything Jeff said in the statement you responded to. Some folks that don't have GGG's slong balls deep down their throats might conclude that GGG demanding that Ward negotiate with him as an equal to or bigger star priced himself out. Not all that uncommon in boxing mgolovkin has never said "i don't want to fight ward" or "i won't fight ward"....the end.
Stop putting words in that man's mouth. Ward sat down with HBO and had the fight offered to him by HBO...Ward's answer: "The money isn't right". The reply from Sanchez: "Ward needs to know his place in a negotiation for a fight". How that translates into Golovkin won't fight him is ludicrous.Comment

I am one of those that don't want to see Mayweather lose, just be a better person in life. But he is ATG. I was a huge Mayweather fan for 10 years from the Olympics on......and so when I see him fight, I am always blown away by his skills and praised him for many days after the Canelo win. And I've never said he ducks fighters in general (he and Pac to blame). Never said he runs in the ring like some do. He was the one walking down and standing in front of Canelo and when he wasn't doing that, he sure as hell was not running, he was circling and positioning. Outside the ring I think he could be a better person but he is one of the most skilled fighters ever. But then you get guys who say he is ducking Middleweights which is BS because he is not a middleweight. I just hope he never asks for another catchweight and YES I am on record as saying if Pac ever asks for a catchweight, I will not support Pac, ever again. I've turned against some fighters I liked, and became fans of some fighters I didn't.First off, I'm familiar enough with you as a poster to know that you're not coming from a completely irrational and fanatical place of simply wanting to see Floyd lose. Lol no. GGG is a seasoned power puncher with skill. Floyd would get all the credit in the world just for taking the fight. But obviously it isn't happening as Floyd has never come close to taking that sort of risk because he's smart enough to know there's limits. Nothing wrong with that... GGG-Floyd is a ****** fight, GGG just too big with power + skill. If Mayweather beats Golovkin people would say he wasn't ready. If it's at 154 they would say he should have fought him at 160.
