Why would you wanna see him fight a blown up welterweight who's almost 40?

... and who looks as good as he ever has, schooled the guy who is now making an FOTY run in 2014 (Canelo), holds a 154lb belt, is #1 P4P in the world, and who calls himself TBE?

Yeah what could be exciting about that fight? SMH

So you haven't watched many Floyd fights, good to know.

Ok Maidana was closer than we thought it would be ("but Floyd fought dat way for da fans doe!")

Floyd looked masterful against Canelo. Didn't he? C.J. Ross, is that you? LOL

But I agree in the sense that GGG should probably move up since there aren't any real threats at 160.
No real threats? Canelo can barely make 155 he's going to be a middle weight soon, and that fight will make ggg 5-10 times what he will be getting paid vs ward. There is no reason to move up until he fights canelo.

Canelo's style was tailor made for Floyd to look good. Saying that Floyd today looks as good as he ever has is just ignorant, but it's understandable if you started watching him a couple years ago.

Thanks but I've been watching boxing for a long, long time.

It's cute how you don't wanna admit he still looks excellent though so that in case someone takes his "0" you don't have to commit seppuku, you can just say "he was shot"

Why not? GGG has been putting up big numbers for HBO and Ward is an established P4P fighter. HBO can totally market this fight.

You're either extremely bias or a complete idiot if you actually believe this. Take your pick.

Ward had the fight discussed by the honchos at HBO and felt the money wasn't right. There are plenty of quotes from both teams to back that up. Now onto Floyd, he's the 154 champion..if he doesn't want to fight at 154 then give up the belts. Golovkin makes 160 easily, in fact if you look his body he's the least drained champion at 160 so 154 or 152 wouldn't be a problem for him. He walks around at near 160 all year round. Why not make the fight? It's a compelling fight, for all his power people sleep on his ability to actually be technical because people don't see it...but this dude had nearly 400 amateur fights so you are damn right he's technical. I'm not saying Floyd is compelled, scared, or would lose the fight but the reasons people give for why he shouldn't fight golovkin are pretty dumb. If the guy can make weight why not. I'd respect it more if they said "we have options we like more than golovkin" or even "His name isn't big enough yet" but to say well this guy fights at 148 but holds a 154 strap but won't fight at 154 is just ****** and sounds suspect to me. At this stage of the game Floyd and his team have earned the right to turn down challengers and have it outright accepted by the public afterall he owes the boxing public nothing at this stage of his career...just stop throwing in excuses in the process it sounds bad, really bad. Golovkin is a hard fight for anyone from 154 to 168 regardless of who they are but he can be beaten, and I understand why few want to take the risk. I just hate the excuses.
