Even though I think it was right for him to turn this down I think he should have been more polite in rejecting the offer because 1) it'll make you look more professional and 2) you don't want to burn any bridges since you never know when you might want to do work for a CBS company.

LOL, Kid the guy is pretty reputable. Only idiot here is your for opening your mouth when you don't know **** about the person.

Considering he has done work paid work for companies like the NY Times, Nike, Victoria's Secret etc... showtime asking for free **** is lame.

They can afford to pay Mayweather millions but cant pay a guy 1k for a painting.

And to all the guys saying that he should work for free, my company will pay you to fly to Australia and you can work for us for free, you are sure to get great exposure in the outback.

I will even put you into a draw for a prize at the end of your 6 month free work program.

Work for free..... some of you guys must be 12 years old.

What makes you even more of an idiot is that you don't realize this artist would have to pay taxes on the flight and other expenses paid by showtime since it would be considered income.

Bad decision. He does the artwork, gets the exposure, people want to know who he is...HE MAKES MONEY OFF OF THAT. But what do I know.

Every artist isn't ballin, there are plenty of starving artist who could use any type of recognition, instead of bashing Showtime and this event, he could've informed some people who could use a boost in the art world, and told them to enter.

But instead he went the selfish hipster way and tried to look cool in front of his friends instead of helping the ones that could use some help. Money is a huge factor in life, but networking is just as useful for those without money.

So you see no problem in showtime(owned by the second largest network in the world) asking a professional to work for free for an event that will generate hundred of millions in revenue? In exchange for an plane ticket that he'll be taxed on?

This guys not some college intern he's a professional and lives off of his work. Why wouldn't he want to get paid for his skills. I'm no artist but creating art can't be that easy. If they can spend millions on promoting the event and the participants there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to compensate an artist for his work. It's as much a skill as boxing.

I see we still have ignorant kids posting here defending showtime. Thanks to this thread, it's easy to see who the underaged immature children are.
