Nah, two instances where he could've not had a belt.

For this fight though, 140 or 147... wtf is the point of a catchweight? They're both sturggling to make weight, why put a cap

Danny swift should challenge Peterson for the 140 lbs IBF title to officially clean out the division. Then he can move up in weight and throw his hat into the Floyd Mayweather sweepstakes.

In addition, avoiding a potential title unification bout against Lamont Peterson; The last lineal champion at the Junior lightweight class would give the lasting impression that his overall resume at 140 is incomplete.

The reason why is because he failed to beat the man (Peterson) who beat the man (Khan) for the WBA title which was rightfully his but was awarded to Amir Khan due to some back room boxing politics.

Garcia owes Peterson a unification Junior lightweight title bout because after all it is Lamont's WBA title he is recognized for by carrying it around his waist. Danny at least owes him that opportunity to win that title back. After all, he did win it from Khan who lost it to Lamont Peterson. Therefore, Lamont Peterson is its rightful owner of that WBA belt since he didn't lose it in the ring.

Embarrassing times to be a Puerto Rican boxing fan...
Danny clearly ducking all the relevant names to have an easy couple of fights, what a joke anyone who defends this is as big of a pussboy as Danny is.

Unification what?!?....smh....Lamont is masquerading as a belt holder....first there was the Khan fiasco in DC in which all the belts were rightfully returned to King Khan except for that IBF strap....Swift caught Khan being reckless and scooped up those belts....then came the Lucas destruction which was supposed to be a semi final/unification bout....but for some political reason the fight was a non title cw fight....Swift then went on to beat Lucas in the most meaningful fight of that year for 140 supremacy

So why should I or anyone else for that matter consider this a unification fight...gtfoh....make the fight at 145 so Swift can start his ww run to the top....don't get it twisted, it's a good fight for both but don't hype it as a must for the sake of a unification.....gtfoh....Lamont can get beat up for GP or Lucas can get his prescription refilled....it's enough medicine for all them!!

Maidana and Alexander made their WW debuts against each other. The difference is they didn't have belts at the time. I think Garcia/Peterson at 147 produces the best fight since both won't have any weight issues.

I don't even find this fight interesting. Same old Al Haymon carousel of dull fighters. He should fight Viktor Postol, Allarkhdiev, Provodnikov, Algieri, Hank Lundy, Ajose, or even Pacquiao.

How does a title on the line change the quality of the fight? How does it make the fight actually better?

It actually makes it worse, clearly both should not be at 140 and would be healthier at a higher weight.

Sometimes common sense is lost, the unification is more important than two fighters compromising their healths, all whilst killing the quality of the fight. Kills me sometimes......

Peterson recently said coming down to 140 was harder, maybe they didn't catch that.

Oooooooh the irony. Some of you people dont think before posting.

@ at holding the whole Khan thing against Peterson while completely dismissing the fact that Garcia received a gift decision "AT HOME" vs Herrera.

Oh and did I mention Khan vs Peterson was more competitive than Garcia vs Herrera?
