Froch was open to the Ward fight in Vegas ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/22739853 ) it's his promoter pushing the PPV angle.

I think he really does just want to fight in Las Vegas, it's something the likes of Bruno, Hatton, Calzaghe etc all got to experience.

Joe's work rate would be way too much for Froch. Unfortunately by the time Carl was calling out Joe, Joe just wanted a couple of big money fights to retire on. It's a very similar situation to DeGale calling out Froch now. Froch has accomplished more in terms of big name scalps, but he's not even the best in his division whereas Joe beat every man who was willing to stand in front of him.
I completely agree, Calzaghe Would do a Ward job on froch, but resume to resume, froch is miles ahead imo. Joe had a great Carreer and i become a Big Calzaghe fan after he beat Kessler fair and square. Froch is our James j braddocl a true cindarella story, almost underdog in Every fight, written off against so Many opponents. No one, not one had thought hed ever go so far. Fascinating what sheer Will, heart and determination Can get you. No better example in our era than froch, and he took the hardest Way.
