Let's not spin this into making it sound like Froch is so noble and deserving of a big fight in Vegas. He can fight any number of guys in Vegas. He wants one last big payday. What else would motivate him to fight Chavez instead of the guy who beat him soundly Andre Ward. I personally believe Froch/Ward 2 would be a huge fight in Vegas.

No it wouldn't. Ward can barely sell a ticket in his home town let alone bring fans to Vegas. Plus he doesn't fight anyway.Let's not spin this into making it sound like Froch is so noble and deserving of a big fight in Vegas. He can fight any number of guys in Vegas. ahahahahahhahahahahah but i fell you;you have a pic of KESSLER so you are still hurt about CALZAGHE played with him at his very best and yet undeafeted at that time instead FROCH that went life and death with him twice losing one fight when KESSLER came from many injuries and shot-old in their second fight!!!Put BHOP in the ring with FROCH also at 49y and you'll understand the elite level of CALZAGHE instead the robotic FROCH,JOE beat BHOP at 42y!!!Last edited by lutenco; 08-08-2014, 11:59 AM.Comment

We'll never know, but IMO a prime Calzaghe against a prime Froch would be a very one sided fight in Joe's favour. Speed beats power when everything else is equal. Joe's work rate would be way too much for Froch. Unfortunately by the time Carl was calling out Joe, Joe just wanted a couple of big money fights to retire on. It's a very similar situation to DeGale calling out Froch now. Froch has accomplished more in terms of big name scalps, but he's not even the best in his division whereas Joe beat every man who was willing to stand in front of him.Comment

Head to head yes, Calzaghe would be heavily favoured against Froch, but Froch has overcome being the underdog in a majority of his big fights and has only one clear loss to show for it.We'll never know, but IMO a prime Calzaghe against a prime Froch would be a very one sided fight in Joe's favour. But in terms of all-time, resume and all, Froch is above Joe. Being undefeated isn't the be all, it matters who you faced and beat.Comment

True dat, but Calzaghe overcame significant odds too.
Lacy's a joke now, largely because of what Calzaghe did to him. But he was an unbeaten fighter in his prime before Joe ruined his career. A prime, undefeated Kessler was also sent packing. Eubank had only ever lost to Steve Collins before Joe, and Hopkins/Bika both beaten by Joe are still active champions. Joe Calzaghe was the underdog in all of those fights often written off as a slapper. He has no clear losses in many more fights.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Froch fan, but this revisionist history thing, where we say modern fighters are better than old fighters, is BS. You can't compare a prime Calzaghe to a prime Froch, so it's unfair to erode Calzaghe's legacy. Froch's resume is sweet. Give 100% respect to both guys.Comment
