Andre Ward hasn't actually won a SMW fight since September 2012, the Rodriguez fight was a non-title bout at 170lbs.

Rodriguez was #7 or #8, he wasn't even a top 5 guy at SMW.

Shannon Briggs and Roy Jones Jr. are more active than Andre Ward of late.

How long do you get to hold onto the #1 spot? Unless he fights by November, Ward will lose the spot to Froch.

Where did you get your stats from because these were the only rankings I could find from Oct 2013, one month before Ward vs Rodriguez and it goes like the following:

Except that Sanders got KO'd in this next fight and never recorded another noteworthy win. He also didn't win and go undefeated through a tournament of the best fighters in his division. Convincingly beating everyone he faced.

Since the 115-113 close decision to Andre ward, froch has beaten bute, mack, kessler and george groves twice. He has won 4/5 by ko and nearly stopped kessler.

Ward has beaten weight drained shot fighter in Dawson, and rodriguez, who i honestly dont know who he is,in a boring decision. If this was any other ranking sport, froch would be ahead, but because of the close head to head loss, froch is behind.

With froch fighting degale or chavez junior either in Jnauary or nov, he would have fought 6 times to wards 2 opponents. With better competition.

So who you have as number 1?

Froch did not 'nearly stop Mikkel' he hit him with a low blow,the referee came to intervene as he realised Mikkel was hurt from it,and for some unbeknown reason allowed the fight to continue.

All this enabling Froch to win the round,had Mikkel have taken that round we would have had a MD win for Froch as opposed to a UD.

Kessler had the win followed by layoffs and lesser competition. Most had Froch rated above Kessler then and some of those have Ward over Froch now.

I really would like to see where Groves was ranked higher than Rodriguez in Oct 2013; especially since he accomplished nothing to warrant being ranked above Edwin in Oct 2013.
