  • The Ring is not the end all be all and isn't respected today like it once was.

But like I said, during the leadup to said fights, according to The Ring, Rodriguez was ranked #7 and Groves was #5. This is far from the claim of LacedUp annointing Groves as legit and Rodriguez as a bum.

Despite these rankings, I still have Edwin as having the better resume at the time and I still do.

But if you're saying The Ring is the end all be all, then they must be a joke if they had a bum at #7.

The reason Rodriguez dropped out of rankings was because he failed to make weight for the slated 168 lb bout.

And just so you guys know, you laugh at the rankings I provided, but according to many, The Ring has become a joke over the years so it's definitely not the end all be all like it once was.

Again, Groves was #5 and Rodriguez was #7 according to the ring. They were the same caliber opponent, but I still believe Rodriguez had the better resume.
Whatever you think, Groves is a far better fighter and will undoubtedly achieve much more in his career.

Where's your source that he was #7? I find it hard to believe in all honesty.

This is like the rabbit and the turtle race. The rabbit may of won the sprint(Ward beating Froch) but the turtle kept going and going(Froch beating challenge after challenge while Ward just sits back).

Froch deserves that #1 spot due to hard work and sacrifice.
Ah so there are people on here who can look at it from both sides of the fence/common sense applied. Halle-fuppin-lujeah. A speck of class in NSB.
I'm struggling to find anyone who doesn't need an adjudicator with spec of empathy to discuss boxing in NSB.

          • You can't fight twice in four years against questionable opponents and still be considered the top fighter in a division. Froch has definitely superseded Ward as the #1 Super-Middleweight and it is ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

              Here you go:

              ht tp://ring tv .craveonline.com/news/182033-ring-ratings-update-rodriguez-falls-from-168-lb-rankings

Super middleweight: Ward (27-0, 14 knockouts), THE RING champ, outclassed No. 7-rated Rodriguez, who failed to make weight for the fight. Rodriguez (24-1, 16 KOs), who came in two pounds over the super middleweight limit, announced that he will move up to light heavyweight after the fight. The Dominican Republic-born New Englander will be dropped from the super middleweight ratings.

              DeGale was #9

              • Sure you could rank Froch as number 1 - he's been more acvtive.

But Ward beat him in a dominant fashion - he's a number one in SMW. I know it, and Froch fans know it.

                This thread is pointless

Though i am guilty of posting a few times in here, i do agree with the bold. Just a nut hugging excersize this is. I like both fighters for different reasons.

Fair enough, I'd like to know how long he'd actually been on the list. Groves has been a top 10 SMW according to Ring for 261 weeks.

That's pretty solid. Last time I saw Rodriguez on the list, he'd been there for 20 something weeks.

                    Just saying.

I don't know maybe you should research it and let us know with sources; although I doubt it changes your mind one bit.
