Man, I wish B-Hop all the best with this fight and I'll root for him to win but I just think it's a little late at this stage to pick a fight with a guy like Kovalev.
No matter the out-come of this fight - B-Hop will forever remain a legend in the sport of boxing.

it's impossible to beat someone worst than Pavlik got beat without stopping them....Pavlik lost every minute of every round and everybody know the rest of Ghost's story....so I doubt BHop can beat anybody worst than that at this stage.....maybe he's motivated to duplicate the performance....because that's the only realistic thing BHop can do at this age....but Frankenstein won't be as cooperative as Ghost was....can't wait!!WBA/IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32KOs) is not only looking to win, he's looking to win big when he faces the dangerous WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23KOs) in an HBO televised unification on November 8th.
Hopkins, nearly 50-years-old, wants to eclipse one of his biggest career victories - the 2008 HBO televised twelve round domination of then undefeated, and heavily favored to win, Kelly Pavlik. In that fight, Hopkins turned back the clock and boxed Pavlik's ears off. Pavlik, who met Hopkins at a catch-weight of 170-pounds, was never the same fighter.

People are dissing and dismissing Cleverley now because of the way Kovalev destroyed him, but he is a very durable guy and would have beaten Hopkins, I believe, out-hustled him the way Calzaghe did.
After seeing the effect Kovalev's punches had on Cleverley, I'm sure his power will be a big problem for Hopkins too. He'd better forget about Pavlik, Kovalev hits much harder than that.Comment

What in the hell does Floyd have to do with this? You ******s are obsessed.kovalev must nearly be GGGs equal reputation wise, so BH taking the fight shows his bravery. Floyd lacks this desire to take risks and that is why Floyd will be penalized legacy wise. And Floyd will be penalized badly.
Floyd wouldn't tackle GGG, and he wouldn't tackle Sergio as well and when called up on it, the best Floyd would come up with you never know what the future holds?
Well the crystal ball revealed Miguel cotto showing Floyd how to do it, and now BH trying to do it. BH may not succeed, but at least he tried which is one step above what Floyd was prepared to do.
That said, I don't see Hopkins beating Kovalev as easily as he did Pavlik. But who knows...Last edited by Derranged; 08-04-2014, 02:54 PM.Comment
