  • When he signed with Al Haymon, I said that Adonis Stevenson was the biggest fool in boxing for renegning on the deal to fight Kovalev. Today, I am officially proven right. Hopkins/Kovalev will fight on HBO in November in a fight in which each fighter will earn $2 to $4 million. Stevenson will be out of the ring for at least a year between fights and will come back with a fight on ESPN for a $100,000 purse. Stevenson left $6 to $7 million on the table with his ****** decision. If he had beaten Kovalev, he could have faced Hopkins next followed by (if he won) a possible fight with Chavez Jr. or Ward and he would have earned $6 to $7 million over a two year period.

Instead, he has to now pray that Jean Paschal will fight him in Canada and allow him to make a $700,000 purse before he retires and goes back to pimping hoes on the streets of Canada.

        Right Thuggery? MDPopescu?
Hopkins was under enormous pressure to sign for a unification fight by the end of business Friday or the IBF would have ordered him to make his mandatory defense against the obscure Nadjib Mohammedi (35-3, 21 KOs) of France.

Hopkins had to gain some time. Later he will figure out what to do in order tokill this fight.

            • I'm hyped for this fight but I don't get why they would announce it before Kovalev's fight tomorrow

Thats just distasteful and shows a lack of respect for his opponent

Hopkins has beaten Felix Trinidad, Antonio Tarver and Kelly Pavlik in his career. All three were steel-fisted knockout artists (like Kovalev) who were going to end Hopkins career, according to experts like you. All three were embarrassed by him and now, all three of those guys are either retired or (in Tarver's case) wasting their time fighting club fighters at the bottom of the boxing hierarchy.

Hopkins isn't afraid of anyone and Kovalev will simply be the next steel-fisted knockout artist to get embarrassed by Hopkins.

Actually props goes to the Partner and Head of Goldenboy East Bernard Hopkins and Goldenboy VP Eric Gomez.

Hopkins the one who should get all thanks, he the one who out pressure on this fight getting made, he even used Showrimes as a platform to let it be known he wants Kovalev head. People seem to forget that Hopkins manages his self and according to him, he managed himself since the 90s.

                  People seem to forget that..

                  • Wasn't BHop supposedly terrified of Kovalev?? LOL

BHop is going to embarrass this kid. Hopefully he puts him on blast for his racial remarks too. Kovalev is going to get executed in epic fashion.

                    • Anyone who doubts that Hopkins can win this fight is crazy. He's seen it all in the ring. Win or lose, he's 50 and fighting a top guy. Credit is due to the man, he's a real warrior.
