if your argument is Cotto is too small for MW, he should vacate and never come back...its that simple

It's really not my argument but I agree he should dump the belt and move on...

My argument is to see why these belts are even more important than the actual fight.

Do you think GGG wants Cotto because of the belt or because he can clobber the easiest belt holder with the biggest name that will put him on the map?

Because if JOE BLOW had the belt I bet GGG wouldn't care too much about unification.

because Miguel is the biggest money fight at 160 and its for the lineal title..it's not the North Dakota Boxing Commission MW title or some worthless belt

You're missing the most important and obvious reason.

Golovkin deserves his shot at THE middleweight championship. Why are so many people against Golovkin getting a shot at THE middleweight championship? They were against it when Martinez was champ, and now they're against it with Cotto, too. The sooner he gets it, the sooner he moves up and fights all the fights everyone wants.

You'd almost think certain fans don't want Golovkin to accomplish anything for some reason.

That's entirely untrue and suggests you don't pay attention to who Golovkin's team has tried to fight for 3 or 4 years now. They've tried to make fights with every single beltholder. They have specifically said over and over they want to unify all the belts. Unification is important to them for reasons far beyond Cotto.

You act like I'm some vested fan. I'm a hardcore fan and we all love GGG ....pretty much any real fan loves the KO artists...they're exciting..

But c'mon Cotto...let's stop acting like Cotto is not the biggest name that will get GGG the most money at the least risk and pump his name up on the popularity list.

I don't see GGG chasing the other champs so hard.. And don't get me wrong I don't think he fears them as a matter fact I think he will KO both Quillin and Soliman...but Quill a bit more even.

I think Cotto needs to vacate and let the big boys play. I heard Lara call out GGG? What's up with that? Monster afraid of monster? Or is the risk too high for little money?

Cotto is a big name, and he somehow managed to embarrass Martinez. He made history in capturing the title and if he faces GGG, he will make history again in how short a time he held it. A win by Golovkin solidifies him as the real deal, and makes him a PPV star.
