Someone posted a video or a quote of him saying he would go to lhw soon. Kinda the same thing GGG said back then. And even if GGG said it and is backtracking, that means Ward just doesn't fight and sits at home??? Go up and fight Kovalev and make some money and enhance your legacy.

Ward won't be a cash cow IMO. Style isn't appealing. Pacs is/was. He's stuck with Goosen though, I hear the contract is legit and Ward will just continue to lose in court.

GGG just re-upped with HBO so quillin is out.

Chavez and Froch can make more with each other than with GGG.

IMO GGG's best bet is to take short money and fight froch in England. GGG's path to the top is going to be like Hagler's-LONG.

If HBO really wants to make GGG a star NOW then pony up $12-15 mil and get cotto to fight him in Dec. The reaity is GGG is not a ppy fighter as of now. He may never be.
You're exactly right. Fighting Ward and losing a UD will not make him a PPV star. Only beating Cotto or Canelo does that. And that's beating them by stoppage as well.

Even if that fight could be made, which it cant at the moment, it obviously wouldn't be for the lineal title since thats something Cotto owns.

I'm sorry but the lineal Middleweight titles is one of the few we can trace back over s decade. It would be an absolute shame to see this title passed around between welterweights and super welterweights, while the #1 MW challenger is on the outside looking in.

I have no problem whatsoever with Cotto fighting at 154. That's his right. My problem isthat if he doesn't plan on defending his 160 titles against legit MWs, he needs to drop his titles and move down in weight simple as that. It's unfair to the enter MW division for one guy the hold the lineal hostage by not fighting MWs.

Ward has some issues within his team. But its not on him to chase GGG, its on GGG to live up to his words, go to 168, and fight Ward. He may never get the Canelo or Cotto fights.

So Cotto should be held into a different standard where he's not supposed to fight the best in his division? He gets a pass because he's a small 154 lb fighter who just happens to hold a 160lb title?

Better question is, why are you against the fight?

I think that fight will absolutely happen. Maybe end of next year or so. It's not like Ward is some PPV star himself. He needs to get his house in order and get active against big names as well.

One second while I get my calculator and notepad out.

Because he should vacate. Simple. He made history like Pac did and left. He needs to do the same.

Now if he goes on to fight another middleweight I will say that's bull, but it hasn't happened so I shall reserve judgement instead of jumping the gun like some of us..
