Why do some want to see GGG vs Cotto?

I'm curious at the consensus to this one.

I'm sure most of us would agree that the majority of fans ( casual and hardcore) thought that Sergio Martinez would beat Cotto easily ( KNEES OR NO KNEES ) we believed Sergio would win.

Cotto wins. Some say luck, others weight, others knees and more excuses ( as if we didn't know any of this before hand)

If the majority believed a washed up and injured Sergio would beat Cotto then why are we trying to have Cotto fight the TRUE middle weight young Lion with the highest KO ratio in boxing? ..when Cotto is a small 154lb fighter?

Because Cotto beat "the man". Now we wanna see him beat the guy everyone considers the best in the division. Not hard to comprehend. Or he should vacate.

Personally I think many haters want to see Cotto KTFO or do we believe he is great and he should fight the great ones ...whatever weight or size!...even no one bigger than GGG or his size is calling him out.

Simply....two champions in the same division should fight.

For Miguel's sake, I fear for what Golovkin might do to him.

Just curious. Do you think Canelo can fight Pac?

Because Cotto beat Martinez and they can unify the belts you idiot. Is that hard to put together?

              Ok idiot.

Do you honestly believe that everyone shares your opinion? And if they don't they are idiots?

C'mon man people have different reasons for wanting this fight .

In my honest opinion I always thought Cotto would blast out Martinez, he's stronger and knows how to close the distance. I hold Cotto to a lot higher standard than the average bear around here. He doesn't get his just due and he looks rejuvenated under the tutelage of Roach.

I would love to see GGG face a caliber of fighter of the likes of Cotto. More so than an unproven Chavez Jr.

Cotto is a small jr mw. We know this but he took out Sergio and is now the mw champion. As a Cotto fan, I wanna see him defend against Canelo first and then Golovkin. Yeah, he is a lot smaller and might get killed but what if he wins???? My boy would have achieved something great IMO. The bigger the risk the bigger the reward. Ofcourse there's ppl that want him to fight GGG so he can get destroyed but I'm a fan of Cotto and would like to see him do great things. He got called out by GGG in his own building. He's the lineal mw champion. In A way, he's obligated to fight Golovkin since he's the best the division has to offer. I just wanna see the Canelo fight first. It looks like that scrap won't happen in December like I hoped. So that means a fight with GGG will take place late in 2015 if Cotto fights Canelo in May of 2015.

I respect this opinion. Not because of the respect for Cotto but honestly if you thought he would be Sergio then it makes perfect sense....
On the other hand I thought Cotto would lose and even though he got the win I don't believe he belongs in the division.
