Cotto currently has the official middleweight championship, but many view GGG as the top guy in the division. A fight between them would determine the real champion.

I don't think Cotto belongs at 160 so I'm not a huge fan of this fight. Most people want to see GGG get a shot at the lineal champion and Cotto is that man. I believe GGG deserves a shot at the lineal strap but the fight would be a mismatch in my view. Cotto came in well below the limit against Martinez and it didn't make a difference at all. It definitely would against a fighter like GGG.

I would rather see Cotto vs. Canelo.

Pretty ****ing simple, especially if you care about the lineal title:

On the other hand I thought Cotto would lose and even though he got the win I don't believe he belongs in the division.
He may be small for the division but he packs an undeniably mean punch and with his ring smarts and pressure style, will be a problem (or atleast a good test) for anyone from 154 to 160.

Honestly I thought this fight was bigger than Belts.

Like when Floyd or Pac fights. I'm not really thinking about belts just the strategy and the entertainment of the fight itself.

I remember I asked why Pac couldn't fight Canelo and was almost laughed out of the site...the the whispers began and all of a sudden it's a good fight... To some.

I wouldn't care who had a belt in that fight either.

Canelo can fight Floyd and Cotto

Floyd can fight Pac and Cotto

But Pac can't fight Canelo makes no damn sense...then we push for. Cotto vs GGG....size don't matter..lol

Your right GGG should fight Quillen. No doubt.

I don't doubt that and respect your opinion. But if your reading these posts there is more than meets the eye on why " fans" or certain fans want this fight....honestly yours makes the most sense.

Yeah, I don't give a **** if he's the lineal champ. Means nothing to me in regards to who he should fight. He should fight GGG because it will be a bad ass fight between to of the top warriors in the game, who happen to be in the same division. If Cotto wins/loses that fight the last thing on MY mind will be where that lineal title goes. Who gives a f* ck. Good fights/match-ups > over mandatory's/"title" fights.

These dudes on here are saying I'm worried about " my idol" losing. But you know what everything you just said is true.

What these guys don't get is I see the bull they bringing and they don't like it.

Who the hell really thing about the belts if two great fighters are going at it?!

If Floyd and Pac did a Rid**** Bowe and dumped the belts in the garbage, would we no want to see these belt less fighters fight?

GGG needs to fight Quillen or if weight isn't that important ....Ward is the guy GGG should fight...those are good fights. Let Canelo and Cotto fight or Kirkland.

So GGG can have a clear path to becoming a ppv fighter. Boxing needs more than Mayweather and Pacquiao.

                      GGG to PPV Formula

Beat Cotto on PPV + Beat Alvarez on PPV= GGG is now a PPV draw.

                      Deontay Wilder to PPV Formula

KO Stiverne on a PPV Undercard or for free on Showtime + KO Klitschko= American Heavyweight Champion which brings attention to the Sport therefore there is a demand which would then put him on PPV.

                      Broner PPV Formula

Keep talking trash+Beat Maidana+Become a Champion again+Fight 2 fighters with large fanbases or a rising one= Broner becomes PPV.

If Only Andre Ward was PPV. I would pay PPV Money to watch him fight. He should be PPV.
