Once again.....Haymon is great for the fighters no doubt but bad for the boxing fanbase and the sport as a whole. How can you seriously look someone in the eye and try to justify Garcia vs Salka!?

Showtime and golden boy deserve more of the blame, as they should have refused to make and televise this garbage fight
You were perfectly right up until the bolded. It's not Showtime's responsibility, just as it's not Haymon's responsibility. It's really the fans'. Showtime will continue putting on bad fights if the consumers (fans) show theyre willing to pay for it, and if that's they can do that without risking their marquee fighters or reputation, then that's a very ideal situation for them.

What keeps this from happening is that the fans generally recognise garbage and choose not to go near it, or the reputation of the broadcasters (showtime) will dwindle in the long run if they keep putting on mismatches. This fight is free, but we'll see if the fans tune in.

Not that big of a deal the more I think about it, the dude spent 2012-2013 basically climbing up to the top at 140 and cleaning out his division, only one left for him at 140 to be honest is Lamont Peterson and a Herrera rematch would be NICE

But it is only one fight, after this I am sure he will get back to the Top Contenders at 140. I am assuming that if Garcia and Peterson wins that will likely be the next fight

Danny still young, not even in his PRIME yet, why are people B1TCHING like this is the last fight of his career it is only 1 Fight

All I know is that so far when Danny stepped up competition he brought his BEST and won them all

Canelo wouldn't want that, and anyone who strives to be a P4P all-time great would not want that. No one who strives to be great would allow a Salka fight. Especially a lineal, division king-pin.
