Why do people go to Al Haymon if he is doing the same thing as Bob Arum and choosing who they fight. All those guys saying Manny needs to leave Bob and stop saying "whatever my promoter says" have just been ethered by Danny with that comment lol.

Why would anyone "want" to make lemons? And you don't make lemons, you grow them. From lemons, you make lemonade, hence the saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
My apologies if you were just being facetious and I'm missing a joke in there somewhere.Comment

Man STFU
If you dont like the show don't watch. You make it sound like this is the only thing on TV and everyone is being forced to watch. Guys like you can never be satisfied unless y ok u get to see someone knocked out or beat up so bad they have to be taken out the ring on a stretcher. You and people like you are what's killing the sport because you don't know what the sport is about. Why don't you go t ok a gym and lace up a pair of gloves and get one of your bi us to film you in the ring getti g your zza kicked. Then you'll have something to rewind and watch for your enjoyment. .... Damn idiot. ....Comment

I'll say this, I've NEVER met a fighter who didn't enjoy his relationship with Al Haymon. For whatever take the media and fans have on his stranglehold on... really whomever he comes in contact with, every Haymond-advised fighter I've ever spoken to speaks of his professionalism, his proactive approach to keeping them informed, and of course maximizing their fight purses.
It makes far more sense to sign with Haymon than really with any promoter. You sign with a promoter, you're "stuck" fighting on their shows only. You sign with Haymon, you land on any show on which he has pull (Golden Boy, Goossen, Mayweather Promotions, etc.).Comment

Its showtimes fault in my opinion. They could have declined the opponents. HBO are not looking to do anything but make the best fights. After two loses rios aint gettin no easy fight hes straight in the deep end. It's the Broadcasters that are at fault. Haymon does what he does. Its no different to what was going on 10 years ago. The business of boxing is corrupt has been corrupt and will always be.Comment

WTF are you talking about man? When is the last time Haymon did business with another promoter? Top Rank just had a promotion with Lou DiBella, and he does co-promotions all the time if it makes money Bob dgaf. You have no clue what you are even talking about, Haymon takes 10% which is half of the usual rate. He also throws in the dad and brothers, whatever their names are, to follow you around and he keeps tabs on you. But he can't be that good of a businessman because HBO the biggest boxing network in the USA told him thanks, but no thanks. Then he tried to buy Golden Boy from Oscar when he was in drunk or in rehab, and even drunk Oscar was like "you're tripping b*tch."I'll say this, I've NEVER met a fighter who didn't enjoy his relationship with Al Haymon. For whatever take the media and fans have on his stranglehold on... really whomever he comes in contact with, every Haymond-advised fighter I've ever spoken to speaks of his professionalism, his proactive approach to keeping them informed, and of course maximizing their fight purses.

Mayweather has been making money, but Showtime has been losing money that's great for Mayweather but not all the other talent Haymon has. They first of all have not gotten good exposure, it's still all HBO talent plus Quillon who is still the opening bout on Shobox I believe. If making money for the fighter means no one else gets a piece of the pie, then the people paying for that will lose interest. That's what happened with HBO, and what will happen to Showtime once the Mayweather deal runs out. Worse, if Espinoza gets fired or his contranct isn't renewed which I think will happen Al Haymon won't have a guy on his payroll in there.
He wants a boxing network like the WWE Network and like that it will fail because there isn't enough of an audience to support the costs. $10 a month isn't **** and WWE routinely draws way higher numbers than boxinng on HBO. They actually have PPV's for free with that service and it's still fading. Mayweather will still be on PPV, but Al will still want you to watch his boxing network... HBO, Showtime and ESPN have way more variety and offer what I need boxing wise. There is no way you can support a Haymons fighters purse with how little money they'll get from having a service like that. Al Haymon is a great guy for a fighter but not overall for the sprt, and really Top Rank has had a hand in making stars of Oscar, Mayweather, Manny, Cotto and a slew of other stars. They aren't some evil empire, they know what they are doing as well.Comment

Not sure how you came to this conclusion based on his comment, unless this is something going back to a different thread. I actually agree with him, the only way to get better fights is for these garbage ones to have low ratings. Also you made the assumption that he is only entertained when people get knocked out or beat up so bad they have to be taken out on a stretcher, you are aware that scenario is way more likely when you have a champion facing a guy two divisions below the fighting weight that is ranked in the bottom half of the top 100 rather than if he were to fight a guy his own size who has a top ranking as well.If you dont like the show don't watch. You make it sound like this is the only thing on TV and everyone is being forced to watch.
