All that and he still can't take a punch. The guy didn't even let his sparring partners hit him in the face.

It has only little bits of "fight" in it.
You have bits of ****** in you to disrespect the sport like that. Boxing out of all combat sports is the most violent.

What does violence have to do with winning a fight?

That above poster said that boxing is designed less for effectiveness and more toward creating long drawn out fights and epic showdowns - so you pointing out that boxing is the most violent only supports his statement.

And anyway, not that violence matters at all in terms of effectiveness, but Muay Thai and MMA are far far more violent than boxing. Boxing is pretty tepid with all their early stoppages and their top fighters talking about extra healthcare every day.

Is it me or has there been an infiltration of this forum of MMGAY fans as of late? Is that laughable excuse for a sport struggling so badly that it's closet **** fans are now having to resort to trolling on other forums?

I dont think so. In my case, I was raised under boxing, but it's only recently my stubborn ass started seeing and learning about the superior effectiveness of MMA (i also started jui jitsu classes of late).

I imagine many people like me who were originally boxing fans are in the same boat, slowly making that same shift, so long they have access to that knowledge base. Dana White himself was strictly into boxing, and taught white-collar boxing before he learned about Jui-Jitsu. A lot of us are just late-bloomers, so that it spilled onto boxing forums shouldnt be a surprise.

Or maybe Im just taking this too seriously, and there are indeed a bunch of bored guys from Sherdog watching too much Manny Pacquiao these days.

Ok every one sayin a jab or punch would keep a wrestler at a distance try jabbing below your waist and see what kinda range you have. You get on punch at a wrestler before you eat concrete. Wrestlers takedowns are super explosive and can be done from a really low position . Watch ANY boxing vs wrestler, judo, bjj or mui thai and idk if a boxer has ever won that match half the time they dont get a chance to throw a punch before its over. Boxing is my favorite combat sport but to say they are the cream of the crop in street fights is obsurd

                    Exactly.

It's also much easier for someone to take someone down with no TDD then it is for someone to hit a moving target on the temple or chin.

Those who have left boxing to MMA is probably due to the politics of Mayweather lame rules of fighting catch weight, crying over gloves, afraid of a 5 foot 2 Asian using a step ladder to reach that height
