He appears to be hungry and fighting for legacy now and is ready for primetime. Triple G is the truth BUT who knows what he'll be above 160lbs? He's unproven. He's never fought a fighter as good as Chavez Jr or Ward, who beats him as well. Both of these fighters will prove to be too big for Triple G in the end. Let's not over hype this guy like we did Ruslan P. You see what just happened to him, right? He's a good fighter with power and tenacity but so is Chavez Jr.

Agreed.....Chavez Jr would be a whole different animal than Geale and Stevens....He has a hell of a chin and could really give GGG some trouble...

He moved his head so well and most shots never landed flush.

That is the question. Let's not act as if he is proven above 160lbs where Ward and Chavez Jr can beat him with their styles and SIZE.
The real question is, which Chavez JR shows up? Will it be the focused son of a legend, who carries the family name proudly into the fight? Or will it be the spoiled slacker son of a legend, who simply gets by while hanging on the fame of the family name?

Chavez is a huge punching bag who has relied on his size to wear down smaller fighters. He has some skill, but he's vastly overmatched in the skills department against Golovkin. Just watch the two spar each other.

If Vera can get Chavez on the back foot trying to box, then Golovkin does, too. From that point on it's decisive in Golovkin's favor.

There is nothing relationship wise to boxing between Junior and Senoir, for sure! Junior doesn't even know how to jab or he refuses to use it. He would be destroyed by GGG in a round or two because he would go laterally and not have a jab to back up his lateral moves. What I've seen (2 bouts Sergio & parts of his last opponents fights) is that he obviously fought no one to get to where he's landed. Limited experience and lack of techniques will get him destroyed by any solid fighter. Sergio was a no power fellow who could have stopped him if he decided to.
I'm amazed that fellows like Junior and Froch who have the worst jabs I've ever seen are actually in high profile bouts. Their club styled fighters void of style and form. Senoir must cringe when his son gets in the ring, he shows some toughness but without real skills toughness gets you beat up against a solid performer.

                  I agree........

I agree with this post because it's intelligent. Based on his rematch with Vera, he is a rededicated fighter. He showed that Vera wasn't in his league in the rematch. If he is serious, he can win that fight. He is a different animal than anyone GGG has faced. It looks as if he will fight Froch in January, though, If that fight happens, he will beat him as well.

You think that Jr beats Froch? Based upon what? His 1:1 with Brian Vera? Beating Andy Lee (who also went 1:1 with Vera)? Surviving against Maravilla?

I don't even want to disparage Jr, but he's beaten no-one of real substance. He's got a solid chin, and when commited and training properly isn't gonna be an easy fight for anyone at 160 or SMW, but the guy still hasn't actually done anything to suggest he beats Froch.

I believe in GGG but evidently he is the culmination of a great fighters before and the personification of greatness and an ATG.

This according to boxingscene and Max Kellerman
