The only reason the fight doesn't make sense for Cotto and his team is because Golovkin would probably blast Cotto out of there in four rounds and there's no point of risking that for health and financial reasons. It's better to take a safer, bigger payday in Canelo than to fight Golovkin. The only part I agree is the financial business side where Golovkin is nowhere near Cotto in terms of profitability or popularity but as far as a boxer and fighter, Golovkin is above Cotto by a mile.

Therefore GGG is left in a precarious position and will likely continue beating up the Daniel Geales of the world until they pony up the money to make a great fighter get in there and have GGG knock him out too.

Wait a minute was Austin Trout in the 'majors' when they chose to fight him? GGG is more popular now than Austin Trout was before he fought Cotto and GGG has a title. So this isn't like a random opponent here.
The ratings will tell them popular GGG really is. GGG's last fight on HBO, prior to the Geale, fight did excellent numbers. They should wait for the ratings for the Geale fight to come out before they make these statements.Last edited by Cuban Linx; 07-28-2014, 05:30 PM.

He's not a legit at that weight well then wtf is he doing there..he won them..vacate them and go fight canelo next.
In the words of Oscar De La Hoya...."GET IN LINE!"
Cotto don't have to do ****, he can do what he want, fight who he wants at the weight he wants because of years of hardwork in this sport and working his ass off to reach this level and to build his fanbase to the point in which he can sell out MSG ON HIS OWN. WBC will allow Cotto to do what he wants because he is Miguel Cotto one of the bigger draws in boxing today. GGG is still early in this sport AS A PRO, get in line be a "GOOD BOY" Pay your Dues and hope that one day you can be a Draw like Cotto then he too will be able to dictate things a bit more. Sorry but Knocking Out a few Decent fighter does entitle you to anything in this Sport, it took YEARS for guys like Cotto, Pacquiao, Mayweather, JMM and other to become a draw in this sport. GGG fans want shortcuts and want him to go right to the top and that will NEVER HAPPEN not even for someone as good as GGG. He has to pay his dues like EVERYBODY ELSE!Last edited by sicko; 07-28-2014, 05:34 PM.
