It still amazes me so many fighters, promoters, managers, are willing to rely on Chavez Jr. To do what he's suppose to do.

The guy misses weight, smokes weeds, pulls out of fights for no reason, if I'm cotto I'm not wasting my time with this.

Mayorga took diuretics to make 54 vs. Oscar. Made 54 years later vs. Cotto.

Like I said, it's his laziness. Physically he can do it.

Agreed. Makes no sense at all.

Ok cool -- as long as we're not trying to pretend he avoided Golovkin or anything.

Anyway, I don't know where he goes from here but moving down to 160 would be dumb. And I haven't heard him say he wants to do that but stranger things have happened.
Chavez Sr. and Jr. where on ESPN "A Los Golpes" and they both talked about that they were willing to go down to 160 for Cotto. Sr. said that they were in talks with Cotto and his team regarding a possible match up. This was about 2 weeks ago.

His stamina and chin has always been fine at 160. Cotto will have to work very hard in this fight.
Right, but I think what people are not taking into consideration is, what has Jr been up to since then? That was 2012. He isn't getting any younger, he hasnt been active and he keeps getting heavier during his inactivity.

Not only is he lazy, he doesn't exactly live a clean lifestyle.

Cotto's about to pull off a Pacquiao-De La Hoya.

Jr has no discipline and has been really blowing up since then. Its not like he has been working on weight management since 2012. It actually the opposite.
All the drawbacks included, you have to admit that this is a huge opportunity for Jr. to regain a place in the front scene of the sport... I think he's aware of this...

Mayorga is not a physically big guy. I stood right next to him at the first Vernon fight.

Chavez on the other hand is a big dude.

Casper is going to drain the living daylights out of Chavez, might aswell call the motherfucker Dracula from now on. I'm gonna tell you exactly whats gonna happen just like I did with Martinez here we go.

HBO is gonna hype it up like Casper is fighting the giant from jack and the beanstalk.

Casper will eviscerate Chavez. Chavez's skeleton will end up in a museum after the fight.

Casper stans will make him out to be the giant slayer and automatically put him as P4P number 1 and in the top 5 GOAT lists.

Casper will become the number 2 fantasy fighter on boxingscene. He beats everyone in fantasy fights except for Floyd, thus no need to fight them. Casper will pretend GGG, and Canelo don't even exist.

With the difference that Oscar made weight -- which Jr. would not be able to...
