This idiot should be drug tested... Nobody in Boxing counts on Cotto beating GGG. I do believe Cotto is somewhat reborn with Roach. The right trainer does make a difference as you saw in Maidana. Not the same Maidana that lost to Devon Alexander and Khan back in 2010. We're not excusing that Sergio was shot at 40, and Cotto was flawless in the fight at 37 yrs old, and a small middleweight. A prime 32 year old solid middleweight like GGG, makes Cotto old again in ONE night. Way too stronger, he imposes his will, has a relentless attack, and can knock you out with either hand. As much as I like Cotto, he gets destroyed by Gennady. He has a much better shot beating Canelo but at least he loses a decision to Canelo. GGG blows up Cotto, and GGG stops Canelo late too.

They only want that fight if they can get a massive payday. Roach is smart enough to know this is no 40 year old shot Sergio Martinez. No doubt Cotto fought the best fight of his career. But against a prime 32 yr old Gennady who took a glancing shot from Geale, and while off balance still landed a straight right hand that stretched out Geale. This dude lands bombs and you stay hit. As a small middleweight as Cotto is and at 37 yrs old, no way does he hold off GGG. Roach knows that. That's why they want a huge payday with Canelo first. They have a better shot to win. He won't beat Canelo, but it would be a competitive war. You opt for GGG first and he blows up Cotto and that's the end of the road. Roach will use the possibility of GGG to leverage getting Canelo done, just as Pacquiao did throwing Provo's name around to lure Bradley out for a rematch.

The only advantage Canelo has over Cotto is his age. which by the way Cotto is 33 not 37. So what makes you so sure that Cotto looses to Canelo?

Arum and co. are going to try to push Cotto into a Golovkin or Chavez Jr fight, because they know there are promotional issues with making a Cotto/Canelo fight. If they don't have Cotto under contract (and I don't think they do...he's a free agent, right?), they have no reason at all to want that fight, because we know Canelo's with Golden Boy/Showtime. Don't believe a damn word Oscar has said about making the best fights for the fans. That guy is dumber than a bag of pretzels.

I want Cotto to take this fight and prove doubters wrong. Cotto has nothing to really prove so this will be about who Gennady really is. I know Cotto will bring it as he's a warrior. The question mark is not with Cotto but with Gennady. Dude hasn't fought anyone who has power and fights back, so this is what I am waiting for before I annoint him.

Dont know how many Canelo fights you have watched but Cotto has proven to have the better stamina of the two. Canelo begins to gas around the 7-8th round while Cotto gases around the 10th-11th.

Dude stop with your theory on when they gas; plain ******. Youth & strength win when you consider Cotto against Canelo or GGG. Period. All these die hard Sergio Martinez fans had their theories how at 40, he would give Cotto a boxing lesson. They all talked about how long it's been since Cotto knocked anyone out, how he struggled with Trout. Get over these theories. When Cotto goes tow to toe with Canelo who is bigger, stronger and much younger, and nobody has to chase the other or worry about cutting the ring off, Cotto has a shot with Canelo by not likely. Cotto has NO shot with Gennady when they too meet in the center of the ring. I would rather see Canelo & GGG have that epic brawl, both young. Both in their prime. Cotto is way too small for GGG. Cotto is a free agent fighting under Top Rank promoted events like Mayweather does with GBP. I believe the Canelo-Cotto fight happens next year in may as both DLH and Arum have said thats the date they are shooting for. If Cotto wants Canelo and Arum stands in the way Cotto will just fight usiong GBP like he did for 2 fights.
