How is it worse than rios when rios lost his fight before PAC? Also Algerie beat prov who PAC would've fought if he won. Algerie IMO earned it more than rios.

Did I miss something or is it all of the sudden fine for a supposed p4p star to fight yet another non ranked fighter at Welterweight. The double standards on this site amaze me. Garcia vs Salsa gets **** on but Pac vs Algieri is such a great fight lol! Imagine even Amir Khan vs Algieri... everyone would **** on it. Algieri poses a style problem I can see that but he barely beat Ruslan and isn't a legit ppv worthy opponent or welterweight. I can only imagine the **** boxingscene would've said if it were Mayweather vs Algieri. GGG should never be clowned for feasting on 154lbers by any of you that see this fight as legit.

Ruslan, imo, lost the fight but he busted him up from time to time. Take what Ruslan did, add angles, explosiveness, the experience, movement, combinations and pace that Manny will bring and what can Algieri really offer up? Lateral movement, a nice jab, height advantage? Great. I however, don't see Manny respecting his power and not minding at all to eat a jab or two to get where he wants in that ring. And Manny will. He has a great track record to prove that.

I won't knock anyone who garners interest in this fight but I'm not buying what top rank is putting out on this particular night. ppv or not. I simply have no interest in a guy who has no business getting a title shot, at a weight he's never competed in, fighting an arguable top 5 p4p guy

Both got their big fight destroying a media hype that the casuals brought into, Maidana Bullied broner and Algeri boxed Ruslan.

Pacquaio is that Bull that going to try and pierce the Matador (algeri)
Mayweather is the Matador that will try and evade and tame the Bull (maidana)

Are these fights the best possible fight that can be made no but they also aint the worse.
          Exactly! Perfect post.
Beats having: Floyd - Danny G, Pacquiao - Abregu

I agree. The only thing that would interest me as a PAC fan is to see if PAC can adjust to algerie's style. I want to see if PAC can cut the ring better this time. This could be a great PAC showcase or a snoozer.

Im saying its worse because atleast Rios has somewhat of a "following". Not saying Rios is better than Algeri because I dont think he is

There is really nothing bad about this fight. People complain about whether or not Algieri has earned it or is a big name but that has nothing to do with how the fight itself would turn out. Pacquiao is fighting against a style that people say he usually has trouble with and that's why it's a tough fight to call. And he doesn't have that many options so Algieri makes the most sense.

Some people need to remember why they pay for fights; is it because the fight itself might be interesting? Or is it just because of name recognition? Just to remind people, skills isn't measured by name recognition. That's how you get hypejobs. So I'm not concerned about how big a name Pac or Floyd's opponents are. I'm looking at what he does in the ring. And based on what I've seen of Algieri, I'm interested enough to want to see how well he does against Pacquiao.

We need some new names in the sport. Forget about all of this "he needs some more fights first". That's what holds some guys back when they clearly deserve a shot at bigger names (Keith Thurman is one example). If Manny, Floyd, Cotto, and Martinez's windows are closing, then we need some more big names, starting now.

Algieri is a hard style matchup for Pacquiao and he's youngblood.

I only hated on the fight because of what hectari said, I can't agree with anything he says out of principle.

Tell them how you really feel Pac Boy. Man you've been going off about this fight. While I don't like it, truly it's not THAT bad, right?

the scariest thing about this fight is that it wouldn't shock me if algieri pulled it off. it's a difficult style.
