He's seems like a good guy, he's educated, which is huge in my world, and I wish him the best but he doesn't belong in that ring with Pac.

Don't mean to bring Floyd up but the comparison for me this is like Salko beating Garcia and facing Floyd in May.

But hopefully the kid can show
Agian, if you put aside the PPV aspect and only look at the fight itself, the match up, it is a solid fight.

And it wouldn't be the same as Salka beating Garcia and landing a Floyd fight because unlike Salka, Algieri was an undefeated, ranked fighter. Salka was ranked #77 in the weight class below Garcia. Absolutely no reason for them to fight. Algieri was a legit contender for Ruslan.

Algieri didn't look overly spectacular against Ruslan. I thought he won quite clearly but he was dropped twice and busted up. I think the fact that he was the underdog made it look better.

I just don't think one decent win should catapult you into a Pacquiao fight.
From round 2-12 Algieri looked great. That first round was really it for Ruslan and that's where Chris was busted up. Take away that round and it wad a pretty one sided fight

I understand what you're saying about being catapulted so rapidly into a huge fight, but again looking at who is realistically available for Pacquiao, we can see options are extremely thin.

its bad because he hasn't earn a Pacquiao fight yet. Just like Rios but worse(even though Algeri would beat Rios)

I look at styles and heart more than anything, when I study fights I analyze the styles and if the fighter has heart and discipline go from there. Khan has a weak chin but its still light years better than Manny's. But Khan and Algeri both got heart of lions.
            Good post, agree with this.

              Because its a ppv fight

Algieri is highly unknown outside of his home town

There are so many good fighters between 140-147 and Algieri is no one is clamoring for or calling for

so many more bigger names and bigger fights to be made than this

This is a **** fight from word go. Just look at this bums record. Not to mention his fight with Ruslan was won in a controversy fashion. Ugly fight with two styles that make a lack luster fight to watch.
                Algieri resume is GARBAGE.

Did you read my post or just the title? I'd like to know who the bigger names are available for Pacquiao (I went over everyone unless I missed someone).

IDK how someone can compare Algieri to Maidana when Maidana has been fighting world class fighters for a long time and has wins over a few.

Maidana Has won titles at two weight classes

                    Algieri has one big win

Maidana beat Broner, Corley, Erik Morales, Victor Ortiz before Maywather did
