They don't have less padding. They have the same padding but distributed throughout the glove differently. There's also different types of padding.

I dont understand why in a sport like boxing you would be able to use gloves with less padding. All gloves should be equal in padding and I have a hard time taking anyone serious who thinks otherwise. I think if you need to use specfic gloves with less padding it shows your looking for an advantage, and why would FMJ give him an advantage? This whole ordeal wouldnt exist if all gloves were regulated to have the same padding.

By your logic, fighters with bad hands such as Floyd shouldnt be able to use gloves that provide extra protection and padding since it gives him an advantage.

Good point but I think extra padding isnt the problem. Its a lack of padding that seems unfair. Lots of fighters have hand problems, so giving them more padding should be ok.

They don't do that because different styles are made for different fighters. Guys with hand problems, like Mayweather, use gloves with padding distributed to ease the impact and protect their hands more. So everyone should the same padding distribution just because some fighters have fragile hands? That's a lot less fair than guys wearing different gloves.

Gimmie a break , if a fighter has medical records that show hand issues they should get some extra protection. everyone else should have the same equally distibuted padding. How is this even a debate?
