Very good analogy. Oscar thought he had it in the bag, so did Lara. Not a good look!

Weight can always be ironed out. Hell, Oscar was fighting Bernard himself less than 3 years later. A catchweight could've easily been negotiated but by that point Oscar wasn't even at the table anymore. He walked away and stopped taking Tito seriously because he never respected anybody's fanbase or dignity aside from his own.
Can you imagine Floyd offering Maidana 30% of the purse for their upcoming rematch?
An Floyd should give Maidana that much or more, how do you put a price on taking the p4p king to deep waters and giving him the hardest fight in years?
The purses Floyds opponents get is pathetic in comparison to his own, regardless if he is the A-side or the p4p king, there shouldn't be such a disgusting disparity, although with oppoenents like Guerrero and Ortiz who didn't deserve to be there in the first place it's hard to see them get more than peanuts, but that's what's sad about the business side of the sport.

But the reality is if you thought you were going to get 50-50 with DLH the you weren't fighting DLH.. What i'm understanding is if he thought he won against Trinidad in which i had de la hoya winning and i'm puerto Rican and cuban , then he agrees that lara won (who i thought won) reminds him of his loss , why not rematch them ? I'll pay for another PPV rematch and i'll buy in hd just like last night. This is business and right now it's cotto or lara rematch in which it should be cotto first and lara rematch second since nelo got the decision

Weight cant be ironed out,, yes oscar fought hopkins at 160, and where was tito, basically in retirement, about to comeback vs mayorga at 160,,
Even going into the hopkins fight, everyone knew oscar had no business at 160 after the sturm debacle...
Floyd should give maidana about 10%,, what money does maidana bring to the table...
Maidana hasnt ever been a ppv draw and it showed with the floyd ppv buyrates...
I got no problem with maidana getting a floyd fight, but he isnt a draw..
floyd
manny
cotto
canelo
wlad
chavez jr
are the only true ppv draws in the sport...

DeLa Hoya should be comparing the two fights. The fact is that in both these fights, the wrong man won.
