83 punches over 12 rounds and Lomachenkos defense was masterful and Russell was a disgrace landing so few shots?
That is right he was mocked over his pathetic accuracy and how he seemingly expected to win a fight.
Forward on a few weeks later CANelo lands 94 over 12 rounds, most of which was actually on the elbows. He was limited to landing 20% over all and still he won!
Unbelievable.
Oh Lara didn't throw enough, Canelo threw less than 30 more!
Floyd vs Maidana, Lara vs Canelo. I just don't understand why your scoring criteria's constantly change.
Rounds 1-3 was clear Lara rounds, agree?
Rounds 10 & 11 was too, agree?
Forget the swing rounds and tell me how most of these scorecards I am seeing are even possible when one fighter won AT LEAST 5 clear cut rounds.
You might think each elbow punch and a swipe of thin air overrules 3 or 4 clean headshots, I assure you it doesn't.
Lara won this fight man.
Nothing but the truth! Canelo was more active but Lara was more accurate and precise. There were many times when canelo missed wildly and hit nothing but ropes.
lara lost in a close fight, but a guy with his style is always difficult to beat cleanly because he fights way too negatively, i hope to never see him in the ring again, guy is a disgrace
I disagree with the comparison as well. I watched the fight at the theater and I felt Lara probably squeezed it by a few rounds but I knew immediately after the final bell Canelo was going to be given a disputed decision because the outcome was not clear and Canelo was the house fighter.
I was disappointed in Lara's approach. Less running, more counterpunching would have been preferred, but he didn't seem up for it. I think Lara was a bit overrated. No rematch is necessary, Lara had his shot.
I wonder who Canelo will fight in December since it won't be Cotto yet.
